Well complain at DMM.  They are the cause OpenPLi (or any other Open image builder) cannot produce any new images for this box.

yes I know this, already, I am very happy with my current image albeit its very old, openpli works great with my db800 all I need is the latest rytec source file to install so I have epg again.

other people on this forum have done this already and reported that it works so hopefully someone will help me with my request.

thanks

Perhaps a donation system has to be setup, so a few dedicated machines with unlimited bandwidth can be rented (can be as low as 6 euro/month)?

And within a couple of weeks you will be facing the same problem.

I know at the moment, I will have to change the sources again.  One of the server will move.  Now it is located on a server which also runs their webpages and forum.

Due to the heavy traffic which we experience now (at least there are no downloads anymore, but hundreds of thousand request per day which are rejected eats up also server time) their forum operations becomes severe hampered.

Just a quick recommendation for the DM800 HD PVR users here: the OpenATV image is still being updated for our old device and XMLTV support works out of the box. Using a very lightweight skin, I am impressed that the speed can definitely keep up with the last OpenPLI image, which is quite old in comparison. Other images I tried out were way too slow for my taste.

As this solution is in line with doglover's wishes, I can only recommend trying this out. Unless you want to keep on coming back here when (if) the next major update happens.

Once more thanks a lot to the amazing Rytec team, especially doglover, for all their great work!

Thanks for confirming that OpenATV works out of the box.

I suspected this, since they use the OE-Alliance Github for the XMLTVimport plugin.  And this is updated.

Willy

PS: Sorry OpenPLi if I say this:  If a supllier cannot fullfill your wishes you have the right to look elsewhere.

Yep. Best option you have.

Or if you want to stick to openpli: sell the box and buy for example vu+ zero, xp1000 or ET-4000.

Hi,

I've tried to make sense of all this, but I'm still a bit confused regarding the path to follow and even if I can be successful.

I'm running newenigma2 image on a dm8000 hd.

I've been using crossepg for a long time now with your rytec epg data,  the combination of which was fantastic!!

i'm currently working in a 3rd world country,  travelling across the country and having a properly working tv and knowing the  program ahead ot time is a big plus.

Now I'm happy to pay for the service via paypal or other means but  let's work out a solution.

Best,

I do not know if Newenigma caters for the updates of the XMLTV or Crossepg plug-in.

You could try to update your Newnigma to the latest situation.  Or try to update XMLTV or crossepg from the feed of Newnigma.

If this works you are in business.

Alternative I can only advise you to install OpenPLi 4.0 or Open VIX or OpenATV on your DM8000.  The plug-ins from the feeds in these images contain the current info for downloading the rytec EPG.

moved to openatv but having major issues with hdd drive not mounting or initialising, which as I remember is the reason I have kept away from openatv going back to openpli but still need rytec source

Get the rytec.sources.xml file from /etc/epgimport and save it.

Maybe you have to do an import first before you have the good sources file.

Use this in Openpli.  It will not be the full sources file, but one that works (I think).

This is because the XMLTVimport in OpenATV is slightly different.

Could you upload latest rytec.sources.xml file to some where, please?
