I'm pretty sure that GPL license says nothing about pull requests agains original git - we should not start making our own rules here.

If I would have been asked politely I could have considerd doing a diff against the original sources so that you see what needs to be changed to get rid of pure nonsense like using dummy recordings just to check if a channel is existing on the box, etc ... these changes work nicely in an OpenATV image on my 7080 btw..

But as you asked so friendly, it is very likely that I'm too busy doing some of my moron stuff :D

I will also not ask a 3rd time for a non-DOS formatted rytec.sources.xml file in OpenPLI

Hello Willy,

In this post :

http://forums.openpl...pg/#entry477353

(at the end of February), you explain me how to modify the sources, I did it and a few days later, I did several flashes. It seemed to me there were the new sources in the flash but I haven't any entry since 2 days for EPG Import. Perhaps I was wrong and this evening I'm going to deinstall and reinstall XMLLTVImport. I hope I will get again EPG.

Thank you :) .

Be sure to install xmltvimport-rytec

To update the sources of XMLTVimport, deinstall enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec and reinstall.

or

opkg update
opkg upgrade enigma2
-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec

It is recommended that you update the Rytec sources.

In OpenPLi:

To update the sources of XMLTVimport, deinstall enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec and reinstall.

or via telnet:

opkg update
opkg upgrade enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec

In VIX (and I think VTI as well)  if problem arise,  reinstall the XMLTVimport plug-in.

If you have updated your image in the last 14 days, you already will have the latest version.

For Crossepg.  Update the Rytec sources in the Crossepg menu.

Maybe you have to reinstall Crossepg from the feed.  (Not in OpenPLi, because it is not in the feed at the moment)

Other images:  Consult your image builder.

Willy

I have a DM800HD with the latest available OpnePLi 2.1 and the above will not work since the image is no longer supported by OpenPLi as is well documented in other threads.

My work around was to update my other newer box DM7020HD as per Willy's instructions and then copy the file /etc/epgmimport/rytec.sources.xml from it and replace the "rytec.sources.xml" on the DM800HD.

Just wanted to let others know who are in a similair situation with older boxes that cannot be updated automaticly.

@doglover: Willy, thanks for all your hard work!

Hello Willy,

Then I tried to deinstal XmlTVImport-rytec but it didn't want, I think it said there was a problem with another plugin. I tried another time but it didn't do. Then I deinstall XmlTVImport and XmlTVImport-rytec also disappeared. Then I could install XmlTVImport-rytec and XmlTVImport, and I got the EPG :) .

Question : does I need also XmlTVImport?

Thank you :) .

You need both.

XMLTVimport is the plug-in.

XMLTVimport-rytec are the sources.

Ok but it seems XMLTVimport locks XMLTVimport-rytec and it's necessary to deinstall XMLTVimport first ;) .

Thank you Willy :) .

Curieus.

I updated simply by using

opkg update
opkg upgrade enigma2
-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec

No problem.

Willy

PS: Of course I do not need this way of updating.  I tested the files before I published them.  But I tried the update anyway to see if it worked.

Unfortunately I also have the DM800HD running on OpenPLI 2.1, which is still the best image for it IMHO - even though there are no more updates. Could anyone be so kind to send me the rytec.sources.xml or point me to any other way I could use to update this box? I don't have a second box, so I can't just pull the file from another device.

Thanks for your help!

@doglover : why don't you publish the new sources as a password encrypted ZIP file ?

anyone that cannot update their box can then request the password by PM

you can decide then who to give the password to, and who not .....

Not really.  I do not have control over this.  Anyone can tell me what they want.

Now at least I know somebody with an regular installation of OpenPLi or one of the supported images will be able to download the updates.

I even get PM's now from providers of IPTV (illegal streaming providers) which suddenly are without EPG.  It is unnecessary to say I do not support illegal distribution of TV-channels.

Do not blame me making it difficult.

Blame the guys who write apps which download the XMLTV files every minute of the day.  With server overload as a consequence.  So severe I cannot update the server anymore.

Wants proof:  (file has been removed so the download fails)

Hi Doglover,

Do you know if the Openatv images allready work with your new plugin? Have an older image running and was wondering if I need to update to get it working again.

Thanks!
