If it is a driver issue, OpenPLi cannot do anything.
Can somebody reproduce on other boxes?

Where did you see the "clarification"? He writes "IF is a driver issue".

Till now 1 person confirmed it's working but he didn't mention his box...

P.S. And let's suppose it is indeed a driver issue. Who can I ask to fix this? Is there a support mail? A support forum? Don't you, pli team, have any way to push them to fix such issues.

I check your file in the evening. But then it seems to be no driver issue.

By the way: I can report bugs to Xtrend, but it's up to Xtrend to fix them.

Thanks for reports.

@blzr, audio selection works. Audio channel selection (left, right, stereo) doesn't work. Please clarify you actually checked this.

I meant it worked like that:

Audio track 1 is stereo with no commentary, track 2 is english (left) and greek (right), track 3 is greek (left) and nothing (right).

I checked it on my Vu Duo. I experience thesame as Blzr. I will try it later today on my ET4000

Audio track 1 is stereo with no commentary, track 2 is english (left) and greek (right), track 3 is greek (left) and nothing (right).

I tried with my et8500 and it works properly (so Audio track 1 is stereo with no commentary, track 2 is english (left) and greek (right), track 3 is greek (left) and nothing (right)).

But then it seems to be no driver issue.

I was wrong. I thought Janejak said that it don't work on VU+ box. But he said that it works. So currently only et4000 doesn't work.

Would be good when Frenske tests whether he has the same problem on his et4000.

I have just tested with the sample that was provided. That worked, similar like on the Duo, ok. As the image on the 4000 wasn't uptodate I flashed the image from today. Offcourse I used the restore option and all worked again after about 4-5 minutes. Also the mounts. I tried the sample again and with today's image all audio possibilities worked. So it's definitely not an OpenPLi issue.

Hi, many thanks about the reports.

So frenske, you say that in your xtrend 4000 you can select for example the 2nd audio track, select the right channel of it and hear one language (greek) and not two? It seems that I am the only one that this doesn't work.

Can this be a defect/bug that shows up only in my stb?

What else do you suggest I could try to find the cause of this behavior?

Is there a log that I could post that can help?

Can my TV be the cause for this, given that the feature works with other streams/feeds?

Can any developer point me to the specific file/part of the source code that handles this feature? I would like to have a look.

Thanks.

Make a full backup and flash new image without restoring settings. If it still don't work you can flash back your backup.

This is one part of the source code which calls the driver to switch the channel:

I will try this if possible this afternoon. I just tried to switch between the four offered options to choose a language.

I'm ashamed to say I haven't read properly. :( I thought this concerned only the possibility of switching between the four audio tracks. As I was curious myself, I briefly tried this out on my 10K. On the 10K I can switch with the second audiostream between Greek and English. After i experienced this, I 'ran' to the 4000, connected it in a flash and tried it out. Unfortunately, as I tried this option, this actually didn't work, like on the 10K and the VU Duo. But I doubt whether this ever will be fixed if it actually is a driver issue.

At last! This confirms the feature is broken in xtrend 4000.

THANKS!

How can be sure whether is the driver to blame? And since channel selection IS working with streams marked as dual mono maybe it would be possible to mark ALL streams as such, so the problem is bypassed.

Please look in the e2 log. Do you see this debug message when you switch from left to right to stereo?
"[eDVBAudio%d] AUDIO_CHANNEL_SELECT %d ok

%d is a placeholder for a value.
I guess marking is not possible because we cannot change the ts stream data. Afaik it's all handled in the chip. E2 only calls the driver which can change the behavior. And the e2 code seems to be correct as it works on other boxes.

Login via telnet. Then execute the following commands:
init 4 (This stops e2 and all recordings!)
enigma2 > /tmp/e2.txt 2>&1

E2 starts then. Perform the channel switching. Afterwards stop e2 by pressing ctrl+c in the telnet window. Then you can start e2 again with
init 3

The log file is located at /tmp/e2.txt. Download it via ftp. Don't reboot before download because a reboot deletes the file.
