There are (were) serious shortcomings when it comes to the special features of the Solo 4K, especially with regards to the FBC tuners. We want to address those before we release.

Other images haven't adressed those shortcomings, they just released a standard E2 image.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

That is not correct. They put a lot of effort in development to fully support this box.

I'm not sure though if they fully succeeded in that; as I don't have the box I can't test that. But then again: software is never flawless.

Can you point me the improvements they made? Because I saw only blindly copy-pasting original VU+ code!

Hehe, you're only pointing to the initial 4K-support commit; just as PLi simply accepts the VU BSD-update.

Have you seen what has been done later on?

Regarding FBC/Enigma2 code, nothing, not even the obvious bug I am pointing somebody bothered to fix.

Anyway if you have some commits, improvements to point, please share them.

Of course it's very well possible that you found a bug that nobody else found (or could fix). I'm not in a position to judge or question that.

It is already fixed on our solo4k experimental branch: https://github.com/O...dvb/fbc.cpp#L41

This bug exists in original FBC code and all other teams didn't bother to fix. They just copy/pasted original code without further improvements.

We'll see -if- or -when- the "other images" will have FBC tuner functionality as intended.....

Hi,

Can you highlight us on the FBC functionnalities that are not working as expected?

A friend of mine purchase a Unicable LNB for testing and this is what he found:

- the Solo4K takes for itself all the available channels of the Unicable LNB, I guess it shouldn't.

- behind a DiseqC switch the unicable tuner behaves like a "normal" universal LNB so we lose the unicable advantages.

Are you refering to those problems?

My friend use BlackHole.

I use OpenATV on my Solo4K but I don't have unicable LNB.

I saw that the "grab" application has been adapted to support the Solo4K CPU but the grab is still limited to 1080, should be adapted to support UHD.

For unicable stuff the thinks do not really differ... the biggest change is related to the loop through behavior...

I think it should.

A standard Unicable LNB has 8 frequencies and the Solo 4K has two FBC-tuners. Each of them behaves like one tuner with three looped through tuners, so that makes indeed a total of eight tuners.
