use openATV 6.0

Unfortunately the OpenATV6 is not available for this receiver, so the problem is still open unless Openpli team makes us a pleasant surprise 

 

For those who may interest. When looking for OpenATV6.0 please don't enter the download. Use reither something like this http://images.mynonp...index.php?open="the name of your box". For me it is ET8500. I'll try this image waiting for my favorite image Openpli5. I may provide you with some detailed feedbacks. Good luck to evry one and thank you Openpli team for your efforts.

I have reported the problem with opkg and many issues were fixed by oe devs. PLi 5 uses an oe version where e.g. upgrade of daemon package work again. 

There we go... this is the structured way to do it...

Need help.I am build pli5 in formuler1 and formuler3.When dvb-modules in SRCDATE = "20161005"-build ok and sound ok.When dvb-modules in SRCDATE = "20170124"(openATV)-build ok and sound not ok-sound scale increases, decreases, but the sound remains the one that is exposed on the TV.

To build Openpli-5 for dm8000 against latest openembedded-core,meta-openembedded and bitbake i discover some  
small issues with 'inherit allarch', vmlinux and stv-299 kernel module.

But also some nasty issue wich took a lot of time to figure out.
I want to share it, because no need to invent the wheel twice.
This issues are now in master branch of openembedded, but will finally end up in morty branch.

The image build fine, boot and works fine without crashes or other strange thing.

But to achieve that, here the biggest problems i bumped against.

 

1 -opkg 0.3.4. The config file eg. for all:

src/gz openpl-all http://192.168.178.13/feeds/OpenPLi-5/dm8000/all

Everthing after 'src/gz' considered opkg as garbage.

I tried to add the option...But i never succeed. Anyway, opkg doesn't work with existing config files.

Revert that commit (Makefile, Version and mips32 fpu and nofpu) and the box boot fine.

3- enigma2 plugins bitrate and Autobouquetsmaker.

Bitrate needs now 'inherit setuptools'

So

inherit setuptools autotools

I that order. If you swap setuptools and autotools, then compalition fails. In that case you have to remove setuptools and run the build again.

For Autobouquetsmaker

inherit setuptools autotools-brokensep gitpkgv pythonnative


Perhaps this information is usefull for next openembedded-core update.
I have all patches and bbappends. So no local changes in openembedded-core/meta-openembedded and bitbake.

Of course, better solutions are always welcome.

Problem with FTP.

Status:	Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS.

Response:	331 Please specify the password.

I removed 'pam' from DISTRO_FEATURES, in openpli.conf. It's rebuilds a lot like python-xxxxx,gstreamer,ntp  blablabla..

 

Flash the box and it's working.

 

I noticed this with a fresh flash. Just updating the box is no problem.

 

I tried a lot of settings and have set password. But no luck.

 

Only without 'pam' it works.

I think when you specify "pam", the authentication goes through "pam" (duh...) and that may require some extra security configuration, maybe a shadow password file, minimal password length, etc.

I don't even think a reboot is necessary, pam is implemented using libraries, not services.

You shouldn't even want to use TLS for FTP. It's broken by design.

TLS in itself should work fine in master-next, you should only check if the ca-certificates package is installed. I've added that as a dependency some time ago, but haven't checked if it is installed on a flash or update now.

It's impossible to use TLS as it is designed in FTP, due to the way FTP was designed...

Agreed. My comment was meant to be more generic, as TLS in itself is severely broken in 4, which is (should be) addressed in master-next.

Ok, then TLS and certificate validation should work fine. Providing, as Erik already mentioned, what you do supports TLS...
