I am trying to scan DVB-T channels, but no chanels is found, and no signal.
The tuner is a Philips TU1216 (DVB-T) in a DM8000 (original) with latest updated OpenPLi 4.
I have try everything I found in forums, but nothing helps.
I get perfekt signal from antenna on the DVB-T tuner in my TV.
A few of the chanels is unencrypted so I should found them without any CI-Cam, and they are on chanel 55 (746.00 K band - 570M 64qam 2/3) located in Trøndelag, Norway.

Is it a bug? Or is it something I have do wrong?

This one is usb dvb-t tuner or pluggable tuner?

Fist make sure you are using latest image, because there was a issue before few days.

If you have lastest image please post the output from the following commands: dmesg, lsusb, lsmod, cat /proc/bus/nim_sockets
Wavefield T90: 0.8W - 1.9E - 4.8E - 13E - 16E - 19.2E - 23.5E - 26E - 33E - 39E - 42E - 45E on EMP Centauri DiseqC 16/1
Unamed: 13E Quattro - 9E Quattro on IKUSI MS-0916

Its a pluggable internal tuner Philips TU1216.

I believe I have the newest update when I updated from the box? Or do I need to reflash it from the .nfi file to get the latest image update?

I see it was a issue for USB tuners a few days ago, I hoped it also fix my internal tuner.

I dont have experience with Linux but I think I get out the right data from "dmesg" and "lsmod".
"cat" and "/proc/bus/nim_sockets" Is emty.
"lsusb" I can not find.
I telnet and write "dmesg > dmesg.txt" I hope that was the right way to do it.

I attach "dmesg" and "lsmod" .txt and a screenshot of my box info.

I see it have been a problem with the driver for these tuner in original images before: https://www.dream-mu...&threadID=19016 So maybe it is a updated driver for TU1216 I need?

Hello again.
I see in other post that it have been working with DVB-T problems. I updated to the latest image, but still same problem with my internal DVB-T :(

Is it some hope that it will be fixed? Or do I need to change my Dreambox with another make? As I understand it is not many who using Dreambox anymore here.

I hope it will come a fix for these problem on DM8000, because it is still a good set-top box, and I really like OpenPLi 4. I can confirm that OpenPLi 4 works very good on DM8000 except the problem with DVB-T, some menu and subtitle problems with DVD-player and IPTV from bouquet problems.

And whether the tuner it is visible? If yes, can you try the manu scan- with the correct frequency you entered and you need to know the parameters of your DVB-T service provider.

I use the same tuner in my DM8000 and have absolutely no problems. Living in the Netherlands. Did you select active antenna in tuner setup? Also +5V insertion activated?

I see that on code:
def enumerateNIMs(self):
# enum available NIMs. This is currently very dreambox-centric and uses the /proc/bus/nim_sockets interface.
# the result will be stored into nim_slots.
# the content of /proc/bus/nim_sockets looks like:
# NIM Socket 0:
# Type: DVB-S
# Name: BCM4501 DVB-S2 NIM (internal)
# NIM Socket 1:
# Type: DVB-S
# Name: BCM4501 DVB-S2 NIM (internal)
# NIM Socket 2:
# Type: DVB-T
# Name: Philips TU1216
# NIM Socket 3:
# Type: DVB-S
# Name: Alps BSBE1 702A

#
# Type will be either "DVB-S", "DVB-S2", "DVB-T", "DVB-C" or None.

# nim_slots is an array which has exactly one entry for each slot, even for empty ones.
Can you use the Philips tuner with some other Teams software? which ones?
If Mr. goldeneye can assist you!? ;-)

Hmm.. Then it maybe must be something wrong with my Philips TU1216 tuner?

I do not have active antenna, so I do not activate +5V insertion.
I have perfekt signal from antenna on the DVB-T tuner in my TV.

I don't remember what image it was in my DM8000 before, I have not use it for while, and the first I do when I start using it again was to install OpenPLi 4 from .nfi file. (clean install) I think it was an old OpenPLi release before. DVB-T worked fine before.

I will try another image when I get time, to see if it work, and I will come with feedback in a few days.

Thanks for trying to help

Your DM8000 have one empty socket- NIM Socket 2:
empty
Can you raise your Philips tuner around there? (+restart box)
If it would help, then, would be ideas. I got this idea from a previous post and I think that this will solve your problem.

Please a little clarification
Is the Philips TU1216 dvb-T and dvb-C capable tuner? (goldeneye uses it as a dvb-C).

Ok, so then I am not the only one who had these problem.

Do you have an easily understandable instructions on how I can do the same as you do to fix the problem? I have Putty for Telnet, FTP client and Notpad+, but I can almost noting about Linux so I need a detailed instructions ;)

Or maybe someone want to make a fix that anyone who gets this problem can use? A .ipk file patch who delete all nim lines in the setting files, correct the settings in menu and tell you to updated the box.

I can test it if someone makes a .ipk file I can put in my box for upgrade.

It is no space to put the tuner in slot C (Socket 2) because it have an DVD-R/W inside.
The Philips TU1216 is only DVB-T capable tuner
