I have Vu+Solo2 and PLi.

I have downloaded Oscam through Menue on box and configured the files of Oscam.

I have got the box to read a Canaldigital-card, CAID 0B00, in one of the internal readers. No problems!

But when I try to read a Viasatvard, CAID 090F, It does not work.

The log sais following:

(reader) upper_card_Viasat [internal] card detected

(reader) upper_card_Viasat [internal] ATR: 00 00

(reader) upper_card_Viasat [internal] ERROR: Could not read reader->convention

(reader) upper_card_Viasat [internal] Error activating card.

(reader) upper_card_Viasat [internal] ATR: 00 00

(reader) upper_card_Viasat [internal] ERROR: Could not read reader->convention

(reader) upper_card_Viasat [internal] Error activating card.

(dvbapi) Demuxer 0 no enabled matching ecmpids -> decoding is waiting for matching readers!

(reader) upper_card_Viasat [internal] ATR: 00 00

(reader) upper_card_Viasat [internal] ERROR: Could not read reader->convention

reader) upper_card_Viasat [internal] Error activating card.

(reader) upper_card_Viasat [internal] THIS WAS A FAILED START ATTEMPT No 1 out of max alloted of 1

reader) upper_card_Viasat [internal] card initializing error

The Readersection in Oscam.user looks like this:

[reader]
label                         = upper_card_Viasat
enable                        = 0
protocol                      = internal
device                        = /dev/sci1
caid                          = 090F
detect                        = cd
mhz                           = 450
cardmhz                       = 2700
group                         = 1
emmcache                      = 1,3,15,0
blockemm-unknown              = 1
dropbadcws                    = 1
ratelimitecm                  = 4
ratelimittime                 = 9000
ecmunique                     = 1
srvidholdtime                 = 2000
cooldown                      = 30,600

I have tried to set both mhz and cardmhz to 357 and also deleted them totally, but no progress.

So either the VU+Solo can't read Viasatcards or I am doing something wrong.

How about a external reader connected to USB.

Should the protocol be "smargo"?

What number has the USB on the front? /dev/ttyUSB0 ?

Do I have to install some driver for the USB-reader?

Hi Blacksimon.

I will try that.

Have You own experiance from Viasat-cards and Vu+Solo2 ?

I know that dreamboxes has reputation to burn Viasat-cards but I have not heard anything about Vu+Solo2.

Best regards

Hi Idefixer,

enable = 1 ??

try this:

[reader]
label                         = upper_card_Viasat
enable                        = 1
protocol                      = internal
device                        = /dev/sci1
caid                          = 090F

detect                        = cd
mhz                           = 600
cardmhz                       = 500
group                         = 1
emmcache                  = 1,3,2

By vu+solo2 there is only one speed avbl for internal reader an that's 450.

Just go to website :

http://www.streamboa.../wbb2/index.php

Shure someone can help You there.

OK, Thanks Stefansat.

So regardless what settings in Oscam.server, the internal reader will only use 450 ?

Good to know
