Yes it plays fine for me using exteplayer3 through serviceapp and also internal e2 mediaplayer, gstreamer 1.9.0, vusolo2.

I think this may address the problem I reported to you regarding the variant used by the Syfy catchup addon in Kodi ?

 

If this is the case would you be kind enough to build this latest version so I can test if its fixed ?

Thanks for testing, good to know it works. It did not for me with exteplayer and internal gstreamer.

Problem with MP3 playback on Exteplayer3, they stop playing about half way through. Not a big issue because it can be rectified by setting ServiceApp to original and they play fine.

Yes it should be fixed, since now its selects stream according to Connection speed if auto select and HLSExplorer is on.

Are you planning to eventually merge it into servicemp3?

Hi,

You can follow development on serviceapp github, lately there was added subservices support for HLS streams.

I'm not sure what do you mean by merging into servicemp3, serviceapp is not based on servicemp3. It doesn't use gstreamer/ffmpeg framework, it runs external player in separate process and controls it. So entirely different.

Ive tried to build the latest version of Serviceapp myself but it appears I have missing libs

 

Can someone tell me how to install the libs that are missing in the attached screenshot ?

 

I'm currently running the very last MastaG image that he built.

I'm not sure how did you try to build it, but since you have probably build environment set, why not just build your own image with serviceapp included, then you will have no problem.

Because it doesnt matter how much I try I cannot get Kodi to work lol

 

So I'd like to stick with the last MastaG image with working Kodi and just add your latest Servicapp HLS fixes to that image.

Thanks but it has the same error of missing libs as in the screenshot above.

 

I dont know why as the older Serviceapp works perfectly.

 

So somehow I need to install those missing libs in the above screenshot.

It requires new gstreamer/ffmpeg and generaly new OE.

ATM it's hard to build bitbakes for PLi 4.0 (at least my tests miserably failed).

Better to merge them on PLi 5.

I've built it all a few days ago on top of PLi4.
Working really well here.

What ffmpeg did you use? The ffmpeg is called libav in PLi 4 and conflict each other.
