I used Taapats ffmpeg 3.1.4 recipe with his bbappend (which I've slightly modified).

I can post everything after next week if there's still demand for ffmpeg/exteplayer3/serviceapp for PLi4.

with gstreamer i can pass an user agent through config.mediaplayer... in the settings file. How can this be done with exteplayer3 ?

serviceapp recipes v4:

- updated exteplayer3 recipe to latest version

- added uchardet recipe

- updated serviceapp recipe to version 0.5

  * expose HLS streams as subservices

  * added external subtitles support (subrip)

Thanks , hopefully there will be no more critical bugs, quite suprised that I never tested seeking in video without subtitle(above).

 

For now it works exactly as in servicemp3, it will list and load only external subtitle which has same name as file aside for extension which has to be ".srt". Then it will try to detect encoding, decode it to unicode and encode it to utf-8 so all chars are correctly shown. I was having trouble with slovak/czech subtitles, uchardet detected wrong encoding(ISO-8859-2 instead of WINDOWS-1250), for now there is workaround for this. So it's possible there will be problems also for other encodings...

I haven't tested it yet (still building) but I believe that's also the case when using the subsink.

Characters like â, è, é and ë usually don't show up at all or display as '?'.

 

I can massively convert the encoding of my subrips to utf8 if it fixes the issue

In OpenPLi 4 gst1 branch I had the same.

DEPENDS = "enigma2 pkgconfig"

The above depends fixed it, but it didn't work fine for me due to ffmpeg issues.

In OpenPLi 5 everything builds fine, no further tests made.
