Can't get it to work on any box (even the et8000 which should at least work with softcam) using the current "develop" version. I think the "record ECM but don't descramble" option is broken, it doesn't appear to be recording ECM at all.

It still descrambles, regardless of the setting in the recording, and regardless whether that actually results in something playable. Apparently the whole ECM setting in the recording is being ignored.

That is weird, because that would mean you can play back the recording with all cam's disabled. And on my box, the screen remains black when I do that.

Supports offline decoding via softcam: Yes

Supports offline decoding via CI: No

Test done with yesterday Openpli build:
Are you certain you did the tests right?

I set a timer with option "Recording type" don't descamble, record ECM.

I then set the box in standby and start the box again when the record is finished. (For better test result you can remove CI but it's not necessary)

I select a channel which is FTA, I do this because then I am certain the CI is not in used.

Then in the movie list I will stand on the movie and press menu button and select "Start offline decode" the movie will been descrambled through CI and about 10minuten of recording is descambled in about 2 minutes (so it's 5a6 time faster descramble then the movie time)

I have test with new image and I haven't adjust or install anything!!

I still need to make something that does offline descrambing when the box is put in stand-by... I hope I can made this for 6.1. First I need to remove the stuff to put the box directly in deepstandby as with this offline decoding can't really work.

Just a head up for lot of box owners.

The hardware must support remux CI and boxes like Xtrend 9*00, 8000 and 10000 doesn't have this option.

That is weird, because that would mean you can play back the recording with all cam's disabled. And on my box, the screen remains black when I do that.

Double checked, just made a recording "don't descramble, record ECM". Plays back fine with the softcam running. Stays black, and goes through it at high speed, with only the CI module enabled.

Tesed on a HD2400 (which I assume falls into the same category as the gen1 ET's, given the similarity between the HD2400 and the 10K?)

The HD51 indeed seems capable of decoding through the CI.

I've selected the "don't descramble, record ECM" for each recording.

- With softcam disabled during recording, does not play back. The few minutes video play in a few seconds, screen remains black.

- With softcam enabled, plays back fine, even without the softcam active, so the recording was actually already descrambled in spite of the recording specifically set to not do that...

- Same results for CI module.

What do you mean with "softcam enabled but not active"?

I tested it with softcam stopped (set to None in the menu) and started (with active local card reader). With the softcam stopped and the CI active, the screen remained black, and recording played back at high speed (= seconds instead of minutes). With the softcam started, it played back normally.

Perhaps it differs per box (different driver implementation)?

HD2400 has CI remux and will work with offline CI decoding. You cannot compare different trademarks and assume it's similar. I know that NexTV tells everyone for years that the HD2400 is cloned ET10000 hardware but here again proof that they are !@#$%

Thanks for the confirmation. This happens with "assumptions". ;)

Anyway, I can't get it to work on the HD2400 using the latest develop image, a CDS Viaccess CI module, and a recording from NED1 HD. The same recording does play back via the softcam, using my TVV smartcard (which also has NPO1 HD enabled).

I saw babsy98 say the timing must be changed, I will try that next.
