Ok, so I'm a bit confused now.
So there is not a problem with BH and/or CrossEPG, and now @erojohn reports that it does work now (and he no longer needs a solution)? Or was this a non-problem to begin with?

Sounds good Matrix10.
Will it also be possible in crossepg to DL just some of the data in the EPG config file, like in epgimport?.
rytec__new__rytec_general_xmltv__xz_version_.conf
It contains 5 files.
In epgimport i can tag/untag the 5 files, in crossepg i can not. (or dont know how to)
So if i only want News and Misc, i can tag those 2 and skip the other 3.

WanWizard.
Long story "short"
I could not get crossepg to work on BH.
So i asked for another solution and was made aware of epgimport/xmltvimport.
I tried it in OpenPLI and could not get that working either.
Then i did a complet reinstall of BH and tried crossepg again, still lots of missing epg data, but some did work.
I was told by Willy that all the sources and channel id´s was looking ok, but since he did´nt use crossepg, he could not tell if that was the problem. Just that something was wrong in the conf files.
So i got to debug mode, and tried to get epgimport to work on BH, and got it working. Now everything is ok.
Im not aware if crossepg is now also working correctly in BH, since Matrix10 have just made some fixes to it.
All i was trying to figure out was to get a good epg downloader running, image was not really in scope at that point.
Will do some checks tomorrow if crossepg is now performing as well as epgimport is right now.

I think that, as this is no longer OpenPLi related, it's better I leave this topic, and have a beer instead.

WanWizard sound like a good idea.
It was never about the image to begin with, just the EPG downloaders and rytec new format.
Thats why i jumped to and from BH/OpenPLI and CrossEPG/EPGImport, to be able to find the problem.
But it sounds like we are close to a solution now, so lets all get some sleep.
Thanks to all who participated.

@doglover,
That is not the latest, as that would be called "epgimport", not "xmltvimport".
Yes, you are correct.
(But the software is the same)

Hi I have noticed that EPG from:
contains old EPG from October and nothing from November.
The source list I use contains:
http://rytecepg.ipse...ing.sources.xml
http://www.vuplus-co...lus.sources.xml
http://rytecepg.wanw....WW.sources.xml
http://www.xmltvepg.....NL.sources.xml

Do not use the gz files from xmltvepg.nl anymore. These are obsolete.
You can use the xz files instead. These are updated.

xz files are a lot smaller, so they save server bandwidth, and download faster.

Hi!
Noticed that from 2018-01-01 all downloaded files are of type .xz in place of .gz
As I work with Kodi I have a problem as the needed code is not available.
It seems that you should use:

This has been announced 6 months ago.
I suppose this has been time enough to implement the xz compression on Kodi.
