@WanWizard: If a hd51 rc 7.0 image could be available before 8 o'clock pm, I can test it. Afterwards 2 records start.

I'll try, but don't hold your breath, the current rc run that started 12:00 GMT+1 isn't finished yet.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

I didn't know that we used there hardcoded values.

We need to use something like videoStream::vtH265_HEVC

So if we choose to change internally something it won't break again.

Generally E2 if full of hardcoded values.

I just tried to use the same values everywhere and expose them to userspace in order to have the codec in UI.

lib/dvb/decoder.h:	enum { MPEG2, MPEG4_H264, VC1 = 3, MPEG4_Part2, VC1_SM, MPEG1, H265_HEVC, AVS = 16 };
lib/dvb/pmtparse.h:		enum { vtMPEG2, vtMPEG4_H264, vtVC1 = 3, vtMPEG4_Part2, vtVC1_SM, vtMPEG1, vtH265_HEVC, vtCAVS = 16 };

// not finally values i think.. !!
#define VIDEO_STREAMTYPE_MPEG2 0
#define VIDEO_STREAMTYPE_MPEG4_H264 1
#define VIDEO_STREAMTYPE_VC1 3
#define VIDEO_STREAMTYPE_MPEG4_Part2 4
#define VIDEO_STREAMTYPE_VC1_SM 5
#define VIDEO_STREAMTYPE_MPEG1 6
#define VIDEO_STREAMTYPE_H265_HEVC 7
#define VIDEO_STREAMTYPE_AVS 16

@athoik: Why did you add the "= 3" for vtVC1?

As I said now streamtype is equal everywhere. So streamtype = 3 = vc1.

@athoik: Yes, you be great to use only 1 enum in E2 and use it everywhere. We should put it on the todo list...

It works now with travelxp 4K and UHD1 by Astra

Also the reconstruct works

But one question

a record of RTL UHD only creates an SC file but not an AP file.

Yes, on SES UHD Demo Channel ap and sc files are created.
On RTL UHD I couldn’t test as I first need to install and configure oscam. Can’t do it today and also the next days it will become difficult.
But I will check it. If not, please remind me.

The special thing on RTL UHD was today that there is only a still picture you can see.

Ist that a reason for the missing AP file?

If you only recorded a few seconds, then most likely yes. Ap file contains the position of I frames (maybe called differently in the h265 standard) to be able to cut without de- and encoding of the video data.

Now I made a record of the still picture for 20 min but there is  no AP file.

I´ll make a next test when the RTL UHD channel will send a normal  movie

h265 uses NALs. The "access unit delimiter" NAL show which kind of frames are included in the data. There are 3 possibilities: Only I frames, P and I, B and P and I (see h265 spec). Currently we only search for the "only I frames" case. This seems to work in several cases, but not on RTL UHD. Maybe only because RTL UHD shows at the moment a still picture only changing every few minutes.

@anudanan: Does cutting h265 recordings work properly? So are there any artifacts visible after cutting?

For RTL UHD we currently don't have a good solution. Only a quite complex implementation might fix the problem. But as it's only one channel and the channel really don't transmits something useful, I don't really like to implement that.

Yes, cutting works fine.

I´ll check RTL UHR if the channel send normal program

It only shows Formula 1 in March 2019. So we have to wait "a little bit".

Tomorrow I will make a record of RTL UHD  formula F1 racing to check if the AP file is now there and then I will cut the movie

I works. Now the ap file is also there if a recording is finished. Cutting works also

I have seen today RTL UHD has used an AC3+ audiotrack, which I only can hear if I have AC3 downmix enable or PCM Multi enabled. I think that has to do with my older AVR which can´t decode AC3+ so the Box must do it. Last year I have heared audio with my AVR Maybe that RTL has swich to AC3+ this year.
