Is it possible to display also the BER value ? Or is this a problem of the OpenPli firmware, that the BER value is always 0?

If no BER is displayed your signal is perfect. I don’t know if BER isn’t displayed in our image. I hardly even take notice of the signalvalues as my picture is ok.

BER is acronym for Bitrate Errors.
If you have BER equal to 0 that's great, this means you don't have any errors on that channel.

The BER is 0 on all channels. Something must be wrong. Also directly on the Vu+ Duo 2 receiver in the OpenPli skin I get on every channel BER=0, even on the channels having artifacts because of low signal.

Is there any configuration setting on the Open Pli image to activate the BER calculation?

If the BER=0 on channels having artifacts, on Duo2 box, then it's not a problem of this app if you get =0.

It's Duo2 problem.

 

There are some boxes that BER and AGC values don't show real information.  It's drivers'problem.

No there is nothing wrong.

- BER value displayed is almost always the BER-after-FEC (error recovery) so it should be 0, really

- if you want to know the BER-before-FEC, use the SNR value

- BER value displayed is shown as retrieved from the tuner (driver). If it supplies nonsense, you will nonsense. Enigma does nothing with the value.

 

Especially cable tuners are known for giving awful SNR/FEC values. Apparently they're built too simple to give realistic values. Like the SNR is always something like 0, 33, 66 or 100%, nothing inbetween. USB tuners are even worse.

Ik had toen zelfs code gemaakt die de tuner van de DMM7000 kon finetunen op deze FEC zodat die not net iets beter werd als standaard en waardoor je het maximale uit die tuners kon halen... Het is jammer dat dit nooit is teruggekomen...

Bij sat heb je een inner en outer FEC... die FEC die we eigenlijk willen zien geven de huidige tuners niet meer door (via hardware en/of drivers)... Bij de DMM7000 konden we dat wel nog. Ik had toen zelfs code gemaakt die de tuner van de DMM7000 kon finetunen op deze FEC zodat die not net iets beter werd als standaard en waardoor je het maximale uit die tuners kon halen... Het is jammer dat dit nooit is teruggekomen...

Is it possible to search a signal by entering manually a satellite, frequence, SR, FEC directly in the application?

No, web API does not provide such function, and app can only use functions via API. Closest thing is to add this as
predefined services in channel list and then use it inside app.

I guess the developer that created the application should fix it.

It still works in iOS, but the app has not been updated in years, why would it suddenly no longer work, I would rather look for the problem in Android

The application is working (I test it on Android 14) but you need to be on same network with your phone and you STB.
