Meaning?

 

Perhaps a missing package? A lot of ipk's out there are pourly build, and miss the dependencies needed in the control file. We we don't install anything that isn't needed, such packages fail on OpenPLi. So you may have to check the logs...

 

Or it could very well be an issue with the code in that plugin. Are you expecting us to debug something we haven't made, and don't have the source from?

This plugin is necessary for skins / Russian.
Without this / libraries / skins will not work.
I expected help with this problem.
It is strange that this wonderful plugin does not go on SF8008 under PLi7.2, but works beautifully under the image ATV, OpenEight, SatDreamGR, PurE2, Opendroid, OpenEsi.
It would be good to work under PLi.
I talked to the author of the plugin - he asked me to describe the problem on the PLi Forum, so I did it.

I get that, but I don't know why it would not work. I dont know where to start.

 

I didn't make it, I don't have it, I have no clue what it does, what it should do, what OS and Python dependencies is has, and so on.

 

I find it very simple from the author to say "not my problem, let someone else sort it out".

 

Like I wrote, the only thing I can think of is bad code: some Python dependency is missing, and the code not only doesn't check and alert the user, but also catches and hides the error.

 

Other images install everything in the base image, even stuff that isn't needed, to cater for crappy software like this. We don't, problems should be fixed where they are created, in this case in the ipk of this package.

Problem solved by the author @ Sirius0103.

It works beautifully now on the image OpenPLi 7.2 for Octagon SF8008.
Thank you for your interest in the problem.
You learn a lot from such examples.
@WanWizard -  please don't forget about Blindscan for SR <1000 and showing the signal before "LOCK" about which I wrote above.

If you do this - it will be a real hit this year !!!.

I will try to ask him if he says - I will give you info.
He is a very talented programmer - he has many interesting plugins and skins by himself.

The plugin from Dmitrij - enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-signalfinder_2.2_all.ipk is also not from PLi source - but it updates without a problem on image PLi 7.2 SF 8008

We are aware of that, it's being worked on, but it will not be available in 7.2-release, but in 7.3.

Blindscan in PLi 7.2 for Octagon currently finds the lowest SR = 1100.

On openAtv - Blindscan finds transponders with SR <1000 - 940, 874, 700, below they did not want to do because they were busy working on the image of Atv 6.4.
To get this you need to edit the octagon-blindscan file from the / etc / folder, but I can't do it. I tried to change the parameters in plugin.py -Blindscan, but Blindscan takes data from this binary file - octagon-blindscan.
There, you need to change the scanning step to a smaller one and give a lower symbol start rate.
Or in the scan parameters settings menu, add the option to choose the scan step, e.g. every 1MHz, 2Mhz, 5 MHz 10MHz with sybol rate SR = 100-60000. Is the smaller scanning step and lower range of SR this Blindscan slower but more accurate.
I can gladly test this before placing Blindscan in the image.
When it comes to showing the signal before "LOCK" - there is no image. OpenAtv - team - is already busy with the new Octagon model and they won't do it yet - @ DX008 replied - that they would work on it in their free time.
These two matters are very useful for a large group of DEXTERS.
As I wrote above - this is the same as now when it comes to showing the signal - only you can add showing the signal from the moment it is detected. This is very necessary, because it is immediately known whether a given transponder can be picked up on the anonym, or only its remains / whether a larger antenna, a better converter or more accurate tuning of the antenna and converter / are needed /.

if you don't know how to place your file pls try the image of 18/02 may be the Pli team were merged files or wait a new build image from Pli team .

The blindscan binary in 7.2-rc is binary identical to the one used in OpenATV (OE-A images) as that is where the octagon BSP installs it from.

But even with two different boxes, both with 7.2-rc, we seem to get different results, so something weird is definitely happening...

We can't change octagon-blindscan binary. Vendor has to do it, if needed.

We can only change plugin.py.

 

 

By the way: I did a blindscan (no parameters changed) with original blindscan binary and as far as I can see it works. See attached screenshot. Or did I do something "wrong"?

 

All users where blindscan is not working. Which box do you use? All the sf8008 twin or solo or combo?
