You have to remember that images like OpenViX have had working images for the sf8008 for at least 18 months so thats why I suggested you try it - and then if it works at least when WanWizard finds the time (?) to get his box out, he might have something to work on that will help him.

install plugin transcodingsetup From the list of systemplugins and restart the receiver
It should be installed if the box has transcoding support enabled in the BSP.
And I wonder if streamproxy needs to be adapted to support the SF8008.

I'm sorry , I now use image openpli-develop by foxbob et plugin transcodingsetup Available in the feed And without plugin transcodingsetup it stream stops after a while and enigma2 restarts

The plugin doesn't do anything, it just creates the streamproxy.conf, which OpenWebif needs to enable transcoding. OpenPLi itself doesn't use the plugin at all.

I've been looking into this.
The SF8008 uses xtrend-style transcoding, over port 8001, so it doesn't use either the streamproxy nor the plugin, xtrend-style uses per-stream parameters in the URL.
I'm running the latest RC, and sofar I haven't seen any disconnects...

Agree with you, reinstall the image RC today, no problem and did not happen any disconnect
This problem was occurring to me with the image openpli-developed on the RC image no problem

I have flashed again the 18/2 rc multiboot release. i have openATV on slot 1 and openPLi on slot 2.The problem is still here. I tried to stream Canale 5 HD on 9E with vlc and after a while stream stopped. And yes transcoding setup plugin is embedded in the image.
I have tested also on OpenVix without any at all issues. What can i say!

Yes, that is fine, it doesn't use the streamproxy, it uses Enigma to supply the transcoded stream (what we call xtrend-type transcoding).

Please post the exact URL as used by VLC, so we know which transcoding options you use. And what is "after a while"? 5 minutes? 5 days?

That is not a transcoded stream, but the URL of a normal stream?
Currently streaming a high-bitrate HD channel (BBC News HD), so far no issues.
Connected using wifi instead of a cable by any chance?

I do have issues with very high bitrates, even over 1Gbps wired.
Streaming SES Astra's UHD demo from 28.2 (20Mbps+), the sound is fine, but the image is constantly freezing.
edit: not related to the SF8008, I have the same problem with my Duo 4K, so most likely a client issue.

Sounds like connectivity issues, transcoding requires less bandwidth and is more forgiving when it comes to latency and jitter.

The boot menu is octagon firmware, it is not related to whatever image is on the box. So I don't really understand why the remote would behave differently, the image isn't running at that point?
