I Flashed my DM500 via the 'root.cramfs' method:
then went into software management and updated menu,then to downloads and updated my softcam to Rqcamd 90. My var used is 43%
But when I go into softcam setup .. all is blank

the partition layout has changed.
The (writable) var partition has become larger, the (readonly) rootfs has become smaller.
So you'll perhaps miss some things that used to be in the image by default, but you'll gain space to install your own stuff.
Some users prefer the default, others prefer the maxvar. Depends on your needs and expectations.

The things that im gonna miss and use to be in image by default will they cause any problem on the box functionality?
Cause i like having more var space to install more skins and things like that.

read the releasenotes, and decide for yourself

Everything seems to work, as i can mount hdd and var.
Sat signal strenght is working in webif (96%), full epg is working.
