Hi there...

As mentioned in other threads I am new to the PLi Image for DM500, and I find it very handsome.

But I have an issue here...

When I change channels my TV loses the signal connection for a short time but then it's able to reconnect again. It's a little bit annoying, but I thought I ask if there's anything I can do about it?

My DM500 (Cable) is connected to an AV-Receiver via S-Video and my Yamaha RX-V1700 AV-Receiver ist connected to my Panasonic TH-50PV700 Plasma-TV via HDMI-Cable.

I use the "pli-jade-dm500-20081003-5635" image at the moment.

I didn't have this issue with the Gemini Image in my DM500C (am I aloud to mention this here?)

Hope someone can help?

Greets

If you mean you see a small freeze in the picture 30s or so after zapping, that could be the automatic timeshift (which you can disable).

No that's not what I mean.

When I change channels the screen goes black and my Pana-TV shows the signal source information (HDMI1) in the upper left corner for a short time. After about two seconds the TV-Channel is back again.

Hmmm, I don't know... I have no idea what pin 8 does... Everything is plugged correctly. And as I mentioned, I didn't have this issue with another image I used before. I really would like to stick with PLi...

this can only be a hardware or driver issue, as I don't think enigma actively controls this signal (scart pin 8 is used to tell the tv there is a signal, and whether the signal is 4:3 or 16:9)
If a different image still works, you might want to try the two different driver releases we put online (normal / old framebuffer). The only difference between those two images is the driver version.

but my best guess would be you recently changed something about your tv; connected a new hdmi device, or changed the tv's default input, or moved the dreambox scart from port 1 to 2, or something like that.
Normally, the tv doesn't switch to a different input when you drop pin 8 (or pull the scart), unless it prefers a different input, or sees some activity on a different input.

Hi peterg

Thank you for your help.

Which image would you recommend then, I have the "pli-jade-dm500-20081003-5635" in the box now...

Didn't find any other or am I blind?

I don't recommend any other image, and indeed, nobody else has ever reported such an issue with our image.
That's why I suspected your tv setup, or possibly hardware.

As I told before... I used the Gemini Image first with no issue like that.
I didn't change anything with my TV setup. I just uploaded the new PLi firm to the box. I swear! :-)

I know I could switch back to the gemini project if I am not happy with PLi, but I find PLi definitly better. So I would like to stick with that but trying to solve this problem.

Pieterg suggested to try the pli-jade-dm500-old-framebuffer-20081001-5635 in our downloads. Same PLi version, but with older Dream drivers. To check if it is driver related. It could be that the image you used before uses other/older drivers.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

I believe the last few Gemini 500 releases have used their/DMM's unique clone kill head.ko. I'm unaware of any other images using it...

Hi there

Just to give you some update. I tried to install the image with the "old framebuffer". But my box didn't work at all with this one. It always hung itself up while booting.

I switched back to the Gemini Image and now this one has this problem too. But that wasn't the case before. So I installed now the PLi image again, since it doesn't matter which image i use if both have this issue.

Well, I guess I have to connect my box in a different way to the TV (directly via Scart and not via S-Video cable to the receiver and then to the TV) maybe this will get the job done.

Greets and thank you for trying to help!

for the CDK boxes like the old 500 flash as following:

- factory reset
- root.cramfs flashing method incl reboot
- again factory reset

now your box is completely clean without stuff from older images which can cause trouble as you described

on the Glassfibre 1GB DVB-C...
