Did you install in slot 1 openvix-5.3.039.release-zgemmah7_recovery_emmc.zip or the multiboot image openvix-5.3.039.release-zgemmah7_usb.zip ?
You said you flash all of the images with usb, the only image that need to be extracted to usb are:
• openvix-5.3.039.release-zgemmah7_recovery_emmc.zip
• openatv-6.4-zgemmah7-20200730_recovery_emmc.zip
• openpli-7.3-release-h7-20200727_usb.zip

Once one of these is flashed in slot 1 you should be able to install multiboot images and see them in boot menu..
If not then something wrong with the multiboot image.

I put it in the flash ( tested )

1-openvix-5.3.039.release-zgemmah7_recovery_emmc.zip

2-openatv-6.4-zgemmah7-20200730_recovery_emmc.zip

3-zgemmah7-PurE2-6.5-20200729_recovery_emmc.zip

With the first it is possible to insert OpenPli into the multiboot ( 7.2 work normaly,7.3 does not see the slot)

with the other 2 image it is not possible to insert an OpenPli into the multiboot ,because multiboot does not recognize any OpenPli image ( 7.2 and 7.3 )

So the stories about the standard multiboot are not true...

OpenPli in Zgemma H7S can only work in flash or in a multiboot if in a flash OpenVix 5.3.039 but only OpenPli 7.2...

After inserting the image into the flash i inserted the image into the slots...

I just test the multiboot on the Zgemma H7 and what seems strange to me is that you succeed in falshing _recovery_emmc.zip into different slot.

This is not possible with OpenPLI, you need to flash the _usb.zip version.

So here is how I proceed I flash the OpenPLI Release 7.3 USB version normally into the flash of the STB (not in multiboot).

Then I put an USB stick format it from the STB.

Then I create on it a folder called: downloaded_images

In this folder I transfer by FTP the file:  openatv-6.4-zgemmah7-20200730_usb

I went into the Flash Manager there in the list of the download_images I have the OpenATV one select it and I flash it successfully into Slot 3.

I boot into OpenATV perform the setup go into the Image selector select to boot back into OpenPLI 7.3 and it is working fine.

There I select to boot again in OpenATV and it is working.

So Multiboot in OpenPLi is working fine if you flash the right image.

Please try try to install PurE2 6.5 and OpenVix 5.3.039..You just tried OpenAtv 6.4 and OpenPli 7.3

No, ATV 6.5, the latest OpenVIX, etc, their recovery images all use the new partition system.

Yesterday I installed OpenVIX in the flesh, and then immediately in slot 2 OpenPLI 7.3 and multiboot does not work. OpenPLI after boot does not see the other slots ... So, this is nonsense

I'm not interested in any Pure. I tried 3 most used images and it works for me ...

The mystery is solved in the following way...Zgemma H7S ( the only way )

It is installed via USB in the flash openpli-7.3-release-h7-20200727_usb.zip

Image offers after flash update  167 updates...

Update softvare

Inserted image to downloaded_images folder who want you to work in multiboot...

It's with me...

slot 1-OpenPli 7.3 ( flash )

slot 2-Pure 6.5

slot 3-OpenAtv 6.4

slot 4-OpenVix 5.3.039

All plugins in all image working perfect...

Thanks for all.

That happens if you don't listen / read:

  • OpenVIX 5.3 is from august 2019, so definitely using the old partition format
  • OpenATV 6.4 is from october 2019, so definitely using the old partition format
  • PureE2 6.5 is from february 2020, so most likely also using the old partition format
  • OpenPLi 7.3 does NOT SUPPORT the old partition format.

This topic has been a waste of energy for everyone involved.

What update, the 167 updates?

Totally unrelated, those are caused by a rebuild for the H9 which updated the minor versions of packages in the ARCH and ALL feeds.

You do need to unpack an usb image on an usb stick.... then put the stick in the box and power cycle the box with holding the power button until the flash starts. Then the new ‘multiboot bios’ should be flashed....

I was playing with my Zero4k today and I noticed a strange thing.

I have configured a fallback remote receiver (Ultimo4k), all was working fine.

Then I set up descrambling on the Zero4k - disabled descrambling sending streams on the Ultimo4k, enabled descrambling receiving streams on the Zero4k.

And when I switch from a streamed channel to a local channel I get an endless spinner, even if the streamed channel is not scrambled. Switch from a local channel to streamed one is OK.

When I disable descrambling receiving streams on the Zero4k, all is working fine again.

The tuner in the Zero4k is a USB DVB-T2 tuner. (It's the DVB-S2 version but the cable for sat is not ready yet)

No crashlog obviously.

If you restart Enigma in debug mode, and you try the same again, anything in the logfile (enigma debuglog in /home/root)?

Strange, I was not able to reproduce it ...

I switched to debug, switched the descrambling on and it worked fine, switched to normal and it still worked.

Rebooted the box and it still worked.

Powered it off with a streamed channel as startup channel and after powering it back on I got a series of green screens (only one crash log file), they stopped when I sshed in - maybe just a coincidence.

Today I was able to reproduce the problem.

Debug log is attached.

Another note - my NAS is powered down, because the high ambient temperatures (I don't want the HDDs to suffer) - that's the source of the /media/hdd/ complaints.

It is more likely that the mount of the NAS is still there, Enigma tries to access it, and is now waiting for an OS timeout. Which if it is an NFS hard mount, will never come.

I import only the channels.

The share is SMB, disabling the share seems to help.
