Broadcast is always 16:9 ... 1920 x 1080 px. If movie is in 21:9, it means, that picture is placed to this same 1920 x 1080 matrix, but 1920 x 882px only => top/bottom are black strips - but never will be cropped logo.
Your TV is 4k. Do you have box set in 2160 or 1080 ? Did you try change it between 1080 <-> 2160 when are problems ?
Yes I tried both 2160 and 1080 (normally I use my box on 2160) but the issue is still there, even on an external monitor. So far I noticed 3 types of this issue:
1. "21:9" movie stretched -> that can be fixed by switching >16:9 image setting in the box from letterbox to something else, then back to letterbox. This fixes the issue 100% for some time.
2. 16:9 movie stretched (half of the logo is out of the TV) - Found no way to fix it, other than wait for the movie to end... Or switch to the SD version / CZE version of HBO HD.
3. 16:9 movie top and bottom black bars (half of the logo is HIDDEN by the black bar) - Found no way to fix it, other than wait for the movie to end... Or switch to the SD version / CZE version of HBO HD. Here is a video when it changes from the incorrect black bars to the correct aspect ratio, just look at the logo: https://streamable.com/ls0wli )
