If you read what is explained before there was a server failure and we are unable to restore the versionning of the package like it was before the crash, so what kind of miracle do you expect to fix it?

We warn the users that they need to flash (like we do when changing of major release) if you want to perform an online upgrade give a try (you probaly have to run it several times) but then don't blame us if it is not working as expected or if you cannot upgrade some packages.

You are still missing the point, but I give up. end of story

Then I will give it a try. We are aware that external plugins and not provided applications usually keep on working after a regular update, so no flash. However, due to the earlier mentioned reason this is not possible for now. So, yes, we understand that this gives issues for those that use applications not provided by us, but at the moment there is no other way to use 8.1 then flashing, even restoring a good backup but you still have to install the not provided applications yourself. It is as it is. So deal with it or remain on 8.0. We call this force majeure.

Do you plan to resolve the issue that forces user to flash instead of doing a simple on-line update (coming from 8.0) ?

No.

Apart from the fact is is technically impossible (we've lost the PR database needed for correct versioning during a server crash), if that were not the case, you would have seen 600+ updates due to a glibc change, and the software update function would tell you to flash anyway.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Thanks, crystal clear answer  and fair enough.

Will the ciplusinstall 1.8 r1 plugin work properly after uploading the clean version 8.1?
It works fine on version 8.0 and supports the CI module

FYI

last image 8.1 20210821 or vuduo2 flashed and restored settings, all is fine.

Some 120 or more packages to upgrade, we know why.

Installed kodi from the plugins, no errors, all working as expected.

Two issues, one known:

1) feeds pointing to openpli-8-release instead of 8.1 (known)

2) Assertion failure: 0 == flags, at .../../../../nspr-4.21/nspr/pr/src/pthreads/ptio.c:3418

  /usr/bin/signlibs.sh: line 14: 30999 Aborted

  $SIGN_BINARY -1 $FN

  Collected errors:

   * pkg_run_script: package "nss" postins scriptretourned status 134

  * opkg_configure: nss.postint returned 134.

This is not an issue, but as intended, all "minor" releases share the same feed.

The second one has been reported before.but no clue what is causing it.

Everything ok upgrade to 8.1 of my V + one 4kse from image installation. Obviously, after everything that was inserted from the panel, the rest was put back by hand. As for the softcam, I subjectively believe that the ncam on this deco works better than the cccam or oscam that you have from the panel but I repeat it is subjective. I wonder why it didn't pass my picons. Another thing I noticed that just updated the display of the deco worked because I set to clone the TV screen on the LCD display. Then I did an update from the panel and downloaded and installed 103 packages. After the reboot, I no longer saw the small display reproduced. Am I wrong something? Thanks.

Nothing special:

[eFilePushThreadRecorder] thread could not be stopped!
[eThread] Destroyed thread without joining it, this usually means your thread is now running with a halfway destroyed object
[eFixedMessagePump] write error Bad file descriptor

permanent timeshift running?

In fact I didn't understand either, the only extra plugin I have is e2iplayer installed yesterday and fully functional but the crash happened today. I turned on and changed the channel nothing else.

It crashes in low-level C++ code, so there is no backtrace of where exactly the issue happened and why.

Hi

Flashed from 8.0 to 8.1 on my Miraclebox Twin+ and everything seems to be working as well as it did before. However i noticed that the navigation in the EPG is now sluggish, almost two seconds delay from key press to movement on screen. Navigation in all other menus and the channel list is as zippy as always.
Anyone else that has seen this and know a way to fix it?

Regards
