Hi,

I am not able to find out how the timeshift feature works on my DM500+ :-(

I have a directory from my PC mounted per NFS on the dreambox on /media/nfs
I am able to record on this directory (I do not know well how to do so but after fidling around now there are several recordings there :-) )

The problem is that I have the small silver remote control which does not have explicit buttons for this.
I configured the yellow button to "Pause" as described in the wiki.
But when I press it just nothing happens. I suppose the the tv image should stop in this moment and resume when I press the yellow button again.

When I enable "permanent timeshift" in the setting, then it stops when I press the yellow button. But when I press again then it does not resume where I stopped it but skips the whole recording.

What am I doing wrong?

Just to verify, this is a 500Plus (the thread title says 500-s, but the post says 500+) & you're using the last PLi release, pli-jade-dm500plus-20081001-5635 ?

Sorry, I made a typo, I have the DM500s. The image is the MAXVAR image pli-Jade-dm500-maxvar-20081001-5635.img
I cannot edit it any more in the original post, sorry.

Unfortunately, the 500-s DOES NOT support time shifting as it only has 1 demux device. It is incapable of recording 1 service while viewing another service/recording...

Ok, this explains the issue ;-)
I suggest to grey out the option in the DM500s images to avoid confusion :-)
But I can view a film and save it at the same time?

I did suggest that they disable the timeshift setup of the 500 non-Plus images awhile back, maybe some day...

Yes, you can watch the TV while recording, that's the "normal" behavior for a 500 non-Plus, but you can't do any of the "timeshifting" functions...
