I did test the latest develop with all the upgrades and "Tune failed".

Should i post the debug log?

What can I do about mdev/udev ?

@Dima ... If problem is after 8.0, then it cannot be in mdev/udev imho, because it was changed in 8.0

 

When problem starts in 8.1 (and was not changed something by VU in drivers etc), then there is not too long timespan to check, if some patche in Frontend.cpp has sideeffect (30.january 2021 - 2. juni 2021 ... several patches only) or no.

 

And whole timespan for changes in 8.1 (= max. time, when it could be brocked) is cca from 11.jan. 2021 to 30. sept. 2021)

 

 

EDIT: I tried on my VU Duo2 with 8.3 tuner "vu+ usb tuner turbo dvb t2/c" (not "SE") and all works well.

 

EDIT1: there in 8.1 was a lot of changes in VU (Patches for 8.1 starts 22. jan 2021 here and not all are by VU ).

I'm using just OpenPLI.

But I'll try it.

I tested openVIX and "Tune failed" too.

I was using the ct2-dvb-usb-t330 (2.0-r0) driver.

I was also trying the dvb-usb-turbo2 (1.0-r0) driver - even worse, the tuner was not even "visible"

Do you have a working version of 8.0.

Turbo driver2 is for different tuner, imho.

 

Btw - for SE there must be installed drivers ?  When I am pluging 'vu+ usb tuner turbo dvb t2/c', I must reboot box only after plug driver to box and tuner is working.

As I saw into my box, nothing is installed extra for this tuner.  I think, for SE it should be same. As I saw somewhere in shop - "plug in and tuner is automaticaly initialized". No instalation... 

 

 

ct2-dvb-usb-t330 is not ideal for it, imho...

 Dimitrij: Yes, I have a full backup of my (working) 8.0

 

ims: That is strange, because the VU+ Turbo2 tuner is not "visible" without any drivers installed - tested on openVIX and OpenPLi.

Maybe on closed source images like BH and VTI?

Which driver should be ideal?

opkg install enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-dvbsky-classic

cd /lib/firmware

mv dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw.old

so no t330 driver ...

I'm using "Tuner externí USB pro VU+ TURBO SE"

 

I can try to replace the si2168 firmware file but when I compared the file from github with the same file of the 8.0 (and 8.3) image, they are identical, so I don't think it will help

It seems, similar as my Evolveo - there will be same chips ... I tried rebuild driver for vs1500, it worked, but it was not stable ... in most cases box had to be turned off/on, because tuner was not visible. For PC and win it worked well.

I also have an EVOLVEO Sigma T2 USB tuner (0572:c68a), which in fact seems to be a Geniatech T230C2 and of course it doesn't work :-(

 

I can try with the t300/classic/turbo drivers but it seems to me the drivers are fine and the problem is something else.

 

Do you have a Zero4k with a working USB tuner (of any type) running OpenPLi 8.3

 

My theory is, that there is something else broken and no USB tuner works.

As I saw on several forums, there could be problem in driver with newer images, because similar problem is on more images.

but this tuner is not tuner/turer2, but "SE" - something boundled in Germany ...
