The answer was "Nothing" reflashing with a new image overwrites everything apart from files in a hard drive or connected USB device If CCcam is not working it will be a setting problem normally. although it may be possible for something on the harddrive or usb to be installing after you flash the image so if after you double check the new install settings then you could try a new install with the HDD and any usb devices removed.

#275337 OE 2.0 - DreamBox

OK VU ET CT developers now is the time to strike roll out all the good drivers and show DMM how to sell a good product. In my opinion good hardware plus drivers plus openpli is a winner.

#275334 Bricked Box -Vu Duo - Please help if you can!

Hi Kiri all the parts are numbered on the Circuit board. you well find C807 in the front left corner of the main PCB. The Capacitor will be available in any electronic component supply store. If you are unfamiliar with this type of work I would suggest you have the Capacitor replaced by someone who is.

#253319 Licence/clone discussion

Posted by jeffphil on 10 February 2012 - 02:12

Well this is certainly a hot topic for some. My two cents worth. I think we need to step back a bit and maybe look to what is a clone and to my mind a clone is a very close replication of an original item. So therefore I can't se how you can class the VU and ET hardware as a clone. Hardware engineering is also a finite art and for two engineers to design a box for a specific job using for example the broadcom chipset as the starting point will end up with a similiar design, A copy I don't think so. The software well look to the roots of the software using open source linux api etc in the originals so where is the copy in that. Now comes the reason that these boxes exist and in my opinion there are areas of the market where DMM have failed in price and features with their product this is why other boxes such as VU and ET come to being. So the question is who's fault is it that VU and ET are able to have the market share they have now. Surely DMM must be accountable for not bringing a product to market that is strong enough to hold off the competition.

#224905 HELP NEEDED: Unable to connect to Dreambox DM600 after factory reset

Posted by jeffphil on 19 October 2011 - 00:47

what settings did you use for putty? baud rate data and stop bits etc. also did you follow the dreamup instructions

1 unplug power from box
2 connect null modem cable
3 start dreamup
4 when asked in dreamup reconnect power to box.

you can also use terminal for windows to connect to the box and you should see a start up sequence when you power on the box with it connected.

If dreamup and terminal are failing there are a couple of possibilities

1 Try the power supply substitute it for a known good one it is worth a shot
2 The bootloader is corrupt you will nedd to jtag the box to fix that.
3 The serial port is faulty needs the max232 or similar chip replaced.

hope this is of some help

#224899 How to change channel list

Posted by jeffphil on 18 October 2011 - 23:24

I am guessing you want to change the positions of the the cannels in the list to do this you press "menu" while the channel list is displayed then choose move that select the channel you want to move then press "ok" the channel will be highlighted then move it to the desired position then press ok to un highlight it. continue with the sequence till all the channels are where you want them. to finish press menu and select to exit the move function.

Hope this helps
