I did a stupid thing and accidentally connected Unifi Ubiquittis POE injector into VU+ Ultimo 4k's ethernet port. LAN actually worked while I did that, and I see no obvious signs of damage when using the receiver, but I am still wondering if it potentially did some damage on the receiver that will manifest itself after a while? Do VU+ receivers have some kind a protection on the ethernet port? PoE injector is of the dumb type, it always sends 24V over the cable.

I am thinking about getting Seagate Barracuda ST4000LM024 and I was wondering how reliable that drive is, Seagate 2.5" drives in general, or high capacity 2.5" drives in general?

I'd prefer 2.5" over 3.5" for lower power use, and hdd over ssd for price.

I understand that openpli does not official support fast channel switch functionality, but I was wondering if it is possible to add that functionality manually (by using opkg or in some other way)?

I am deciding whether to get 3.5 or 2.5" hdd for my receiver that is passively cooled and has no fans. From what I understand 3.5" radiate more heat, but I don't know how significant the difference is. Obvious advantage of 3.5" is larger hdd for the same money.

 

Appreciate if someone can share their thoughts or experiences.

I am having trouble auto scanning dvb-c channels on Ultimo 4k. I'm getting this: "ERROR - failed to scan (error starting scanning)". I'm using OpenPLi-4.0-beta-vuultimo4k-20170522_usb

 

Default image that came with the receiver did autoscan just fine.

 

How can I resolve this?
