#1521883 OpenPLi-py3

Posted by marto on 26 February 2023 - 12:56

There is a WLAN connection problem if DHCP is disabled since the last two releases (24th and 26th of Feb) on Ultimo 4K. The problem is that after each restart of the box, the DNS is reset to 0.0.0.0. and you'll have to enter it each time manually again and again if you want internet working. If DHCP is enabled all is OK.

So, if manual network settings are set, the connection is OK, but no internet unless you enter manually the DNS. Then all is OK until you restart the box. After the restart, it shows the box is connected, but due to DNS reset to 0.0.0.0. no internet until you enter it again. Hope somebody can test and confirm if can reproduce the bug and apply fix for it.

Kodi doesn't start at all on Ultimo 4K as well.

ChromiumOS and YouTubeTV are now working for the first time in Open PLi image.

Installation of Webkithbbtv and switching to channel supporting HBBTV cause GSOD.

HDMI-CEC still doesn't work properly on Ultimo 4K with same remarks from my previous post #282.

For Kodi, it just takes one more look.
So a look from another side.
Let's see if Andrea Adami can take a look at it.

GSOD -> please attach the crash-log here.

Please find attached webkithbbtv enigma crash and kodi logs.

#1452333 Bootlogo (splash_cfe_auto.bin / splash_cfe_auto.bmp)

Unfortunately, my original Vu+ splash was also deleted / replaced when flashing the OpenATV image. Therefore, I use this alternative (new) logo for my Vu+ device.

Attached is the original Vu+ splash.bin file in case you still need it.

#1223662 Multiboot VU+ 4K Ultimo

Check if the multiboot is enabled in the plugin. From the openmultiboot menu press 4 button as far as I remember. I'm not with the receiver right now. Will check tomorrow.

I deleted it.

In case you want to try again here are the steps:

 - format your USB stick via OpenPLi's Harddisk menu (Initialization)

 - open the Openmultiboot menu and select to install openmultiboot on your external storage which you just formated (media/usb)

 - connect with your ftp client to your receiver and go to  /media/usb/open-multiboot-upload folder, where you have to put your new zipped image

 - on your receiver if you are still with the openmultiboot screen, press the green button(install) and you'll see the uploaded image there.Just press the green button one more time and then select Standard install, after that installation will start(it takes about 35s on slow usb stick)

 - on the next screen you'll see Flash image, and the image you just installed. Check on the same screen if the OMB is disabled or enabled. If it's disabled, press the blue button which opens the menu, and then press "4".

 - lastly select your new image and press OK

You have to confirm twice "Yes", then the receiver will reboot, and again after the initial welcome screen, you 'll see the startup OpenMultiboot screen with the installed images where you can select again the desired image to boot.

It isn't rocket sciance, and takes just few minutes to setup and install all you need. I'm using only OpenPLi in the flash with no issues so far. The OpenMultiboot images on USB stick are just for testing purposes. The only issue appeared to be the format option in the OpenMultiboot plugin.

I've just checked with new flash drive, and indeed something is broken while trying to format the USB flash via the OpenMultiboot plugin. It's causing infinite spinner and the only whay to make the box operational again is to restart it from the back switch. You can format the new USB flash drive in your box using the OpenPLi HDD menu which works fine and takes few seconds depends on the size. After that you can start using the OpenMultiboot plugin.

#794951 New drivers VU Ultimo 4K for Powervu without streaming?

Posted by marto on 9 November 2017 - 12:22

Where can the drivers be found?

From any other image already updated with those drivers as VTI, BH and probably OpenATV.

The path is: /lib/modules/3.14.28-1.12/extra/

Just copy and replace them in the same folder of OpenPli.
