In Topic: Two VU+ Ultimo 4K boxes and problem with update

20 March 2020 - 19:58

Boxes are on the same lan and they surely have different ip addresses.

@WanWizard

I'll try to describe behaviour of boxes. Let's say one week I do update on one box. If I go to another box and I try to do update I see nothing what could be updated. It looks like update was already done. Next week I start updating with second box and I see only new updates, not from previous week. Another box shows nothing for update then. In fact I can have all updates completaly in one box when I always use the same one but nothing in another one. I cannot understand this. It is impossible that they communicate one to another and that they share information of updates. My idea was that somewhere it is remembered which updates were done.

I run OpenPLI 7.2 on both machines. Several years I use two boxes with the same version of OpenPLI in my home but I never observed such a strange behaviour. I can flash both boxes from scratch that I can probably get rid of this malfunction but I hope that simpler solution could exist to avoid this.

@littlesat

I will test it but if it would not be still functional I will change tuners to as I have in my older Ultimo 4K.

Hi, guys, after some time. Will this problem be solved in OpenPLI 7.2?

Let's give it time. I need to prepare myself for journey abroad. I will be back on Monday. Maybe you will meanwhile find some fresh ideas what next.

Uncommitted 4-port Spaun diseqc switch is connected really to K tuner. I use it for motor but for this tests I assigned satellites directly. Second diseqc switch is common committed 4-port switch connected to tuner L. That's why you can see differences in configuration. Such a configuration of diseqc's I use many years.

I have made so many changes in configuration for tests that it is possible that I did not return right parameter back (power Measurement=false was really forgotten parameter).

Tuner K controls correctly both uncommitted and committed diseqc switches.
Tuner L controls somehow committed but uncommited is not able to control at all. (see #69)

One LNB has 2 positions (4W and 5W) because they are so close one to each other.

It seems to me that it did not help you a lot.
