The arabic font

But you are saying that no Arabic font yet exists? And that the 84kb md_khmurabi_10.ttf font you have attached DOES give Arabic script.

So do you mean that Admin should replace the standard 241kb md_khmurabi_10.ttf font with your smaller one? Does the larger original not support Arabic?

I know this font, but I'm not sure if it has all the East European characters. Last time I checked, it had indeed very nice Arabic characters but some other important characters were missing.

I've added this thread to the ticket: http://openpli.pli-i....org/ticket/114

@hemertje

can u see the picture of epg contect?
the text line inside epg-windows are are up-down (inverted) so it's should be like that 4,3-..etc not 1,2,3,..etc this common in all tuxbox and only for RTL arabic,hebrew
how to fix that? inside source
have a look http://openpli.pli-images.org/ticket/7

I check the epgwindow.cpp ... but am not code expert can u plz tell me which in source code , I don't really need any other epg content only heb,arabic (local languages) ... so maybe I could make my own compile to avoid this problem
and not only for old dm500 ... i wana it with other boxes that uses openpli platforme
cause it's a unique problem ... I assume if u invert content it will reverse other langs !
Best regards
you ppl great

I think it should (lang detection LINE reverse function and back with value) !!
this should work only with RTLs , and solve problem with many users for this platform
but can u point where is the input for epg data parse?
am new with all source stuff

I don't have a solution too, but I can give you the technical details (I assume).
First of all it's not EPG specific but it will happen for all long texts which don't fit on one line. The RTL source code just reverses the whole text from left-to-right to right-to-left even if the line does not fit in one line on the screen.

So, I assume this is the problem:
A small text like "abcdefg" will be translated to "gfedcba" in RTL. This is right. However most EPG texts are quite long don't fit on one line of the screen. The Enigma "graphical library" will do the wrapping in that case.

So, in LTR a text like "this is a very long text" (assume it doesn't fit on the screen) will become:
this is a very
long text

If a RTL language is selected, it will be translated to "txet gnol yrev a si siht" of course and Enigma will show it as:
txet gnol yrev
a si siht

Of course it should have been:
a si siht
txet gnol yrev

The Enigma "graphical library" has no knowledge of RTL.
Do you understand? It's quite difficult to explain.

@dAF2000
ty for reply
I edited the picture above
as u can see we don't talk about letter but WORDs ! in arabic work with letters is disaster (not easy at all)
and not only work also lines ... and it's begin with words sort simply inverted
now I some text in enigma PO file and also have seem some trouble but as u know those are constant translate
I mean with po files : like this
==================================
1) The transponder scan has finished and found \n
2) %i new Transponders,\n
3) %i new TV Services,\n
==================================
in arabic need to invert the translate and so
3) => 1)
2) =>2)
1) =>3)

and again it's not letters ... only words !! I think RTL need special solution
because of BIDIfons ... it's come on-the-fly ... enigma did do anything only push them into value and then EPG
I think before push them into value need invert the sort of words ! from end to last (of course need detect language...only RTL arabic..hebrew I think Thai also..maybe)
maybe I can help if I find the EPG parse function then we can add reverse function with value
and this well be 2010 FIX !! u imagine? all ppl uses tuxbox openpli based ... well like it and solve there reading problem
BR again

Thanks dAF2000 for the clarification, pretty interesting indeed. So are you implying that to resolve this issue, changes need to be done to Enigma's code (to support RTL properly?)
