Yes, as he wrote he don't create disk.img in this version.
A disk.img backup has the big disadvantage that it's huge. disk.img means you create a 1:1 copy of the ext4 filesystem with dd. So including all empty blocks. That means: Is the partition x GB big, is the backup also x GB big even when you only use 100MB.
Image builders use a trick to make image small. But this only works when you build the image. Not when you want to make a backup.

If you have a disk.img you can install/flash it via USB stick.
disk.img created with this version of the backup suite (http://forums.openpl...ndpost&p=614707) might not work!

Good Morning,
Pedro Thanks for all your work!
I was succesfully able to flash a very old image made by your Suite and transferred to an USB stick then to an XP1000! THis was from the time you made a backup image in the folder that could be used directly on a USB stick to flash the box afterwards.
But the settings @ the time of making the backup are not copied... correct? I am sorry to ask such a seemingly basic question but cannor find the answer nor here nor in your github... The name Fullbackup put me on the wrong idea...
What extension or plugin should I use to backup the settings and bouquets and such?
Also I get an error message when using your backup suite version Git53 on an XP1000 with kernel 3.9 and an image from 12/2014
"
chmod: /hdd/bi/root.ubi: Permission denied
Maak nu het bestand: root.ubifsBack-up maken is niet gelukt
"
Sorry again if I post in the wrong place... thanks in advance for your work!

- If you restore a backup then that is an image with all setiings etc as they were at the moment you made the backup
- in the github https://github.com/P...bie/BackupSuite are only the files no description
The plugin with the name automatic fullbackup is not mine but from Dimitrije
With the error message there must also be a logfile it is /tmp/BackupSuite.log. Place it here and maybe I can see what is the real problem.
There is no ipk version build anymore, just run an update or remove the old version and install the new version with Menu->Plugins->Green button/Download->Extensions->backupsuite (works only with a working internetconnection.

As of today the new models of VU+ are also supported like the VU+ Uno4K (download it here: https://openpli.org/.../vuplus/vuuno4k )
and the Ultimo 4K (no openpli image yet)

You can use the autobackup to make a backup of the most important files.
You should be able to restore it, with 2 exceptions:
- plugins that don't exist for the ARM achitecture will not be reinstalled
- your tuner config will be invalid
And you might have to checks paths if there is a difference there (with or without HDD, USB stick, etc).
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.
Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.
