In telnet, if you want to install it, give the command:
opkg install enigma2-plugin-extensions-backupsuite
or if you only want to download it
opkg download enigma2-plugin-extensions-backupsuite

In the current version there is a problem when the label of the USB-stick contains a blank/space in the name. I will try to correct this in the next days. In the meantime a workaround could be to avoid USB sticks containing space(s) in the label.

Hi Pedro_Newbie,

I registered here at the forum despite the fact that I don't use OpenPLi - just to get in contact with you :D

Your backupsuite is really great and a changed 9.1 version is also used for backups in OpenMips / OpenHDF images for Gigablue boxes.

If I or scp (the original maintainer of the Gigablue version) re-add the Gigablue-support to the shell script of your latest version, would you care and add/keep it in your original version?
And also maintain it in future?

Or do we always have to re-add the support when you create a new version?

It would really be nice if you would accept a patch and keep the support for other box types... ^_^

regards,
Massa

Sorry but I have no intention to maintain the Gigablue boxes, I'm concentrating on Openpli and VU+, ET and XP boxes.
I look at the modified backupsuite and for me it is too much hassle to track all the teamimages to maintain, there are too much conditions to take in consideration. For me it is pure hobby and I'm no coder whatsoever.
Please feel free to further adapt the backupsuite for the Gigablue boxes and other images.
I hope you can understand.

I hope you can understand.

It's too bad - but of course I understand.
I currently saw (at another forum) that you made some initial steps for gigablue related boxes and that you found out that there're too much things to consider...

So I think we're keep our own Gigablue related patched version of your backupsuite...

Here's a new version, this is a bugfix for the Solo2, the Solo2 uses mtd2 for the kernel. I assumed (wrongly) it was mtd1 (assumption is the mother of all fuckups!)

@Pedro_Newbie

Thanks for Your nice plugin

For vu+solo2 it must be root_cfe_auto.bin and not root_cfe_auto.jffs2

if [ $MODEL = "solo2" ] ; then
  mv "$WORKDIR/root.ubifs" "$MAINDEST/root_cfe_auto.bin"
else
  mv "$WORKDIR/root.ubifs" "$MAINDEST/root_cfe_auto.jffs2"

I have some troubles with solo2 backup
First kernel_cfe_auto.bin is too big (7.34MB)

I was restore backuped image, but now I can't flash my box with any other image, it's show on display that all Is Ok (reading/erasing/programming/update), but after reboot I always have my restored from backup image in my box :(
Any idea how I can flash it with original (or any other) image?
