I know this is an OpenPli site but I use a Linux box (Zgemma H7S) with Openvix which works well for me. Took a bit of sussing, but got there in the end. Also have a few non linux boxes that work well on 27.5W.
Enigma2 and BBC/ITV at 27.5W Intelsat - a big challenge

I find the easiest way is to setup the dish on Hispisat 30W and get a picture, then rotate the dish back towards 27.5W until the picture freezes. This should put you close enough to find a signal to setup 27.5W (11495v.) to then be able to fine tune. Works for me although I did find that a 50cm dish was borderline in Spain and Portugal so normally used a 60cm in good weather and 80cm to cope with rain fade. I used different dishes when traveling with the Motorhome
Thanks lespat. Theorically, the flat panels like Selfsat have a similar behaviour to 50-60cm dishes, but there is not a lot information on the net... I'll post my results!
No chance with that dish.

I use a zgemma h9 dual boot with openPli and vix but by far the simplest box setup is one of those cheap GTmedia v8 boxes, truly plug and play !

I disagree that the sensitivity of the Selfsat is equal to a 50-60 cm dish.

But that means that Selfsat panels are supposed to be equal to 40cm antennas? Let me doubt that... The commercial penetration of such a small antennas is very low because even pointing to the massive Astra 1A in Europe needs 50cm, so I hardly believe that Selfsat put in the market a useless product. Plus, they have a pretty decent commercial success. Anyways, this chat would end with the results, I will post them! :-)

Greetings from cloudy northern Spain!
Success! Never underestimate the fine tuning of an old qrp radio amateur practitioner
To prove it, find below a video i uploaded to youtube showing the signal levels. Nothing massive, but considering the poor conditions -holding the antenna with my hands and no mount installed, I think we can consider this a success. Obviously the GTMedia meter can't get any proper signal in 27,5ºw but it

That's a joke, right? LOL.

Nooo! You had no faith in me huh? Let me set up the antenna in the final location and (hoefully) the vu+ with all the stuff for the BISS channels, and will send pic of the BBCs! BTW, I'll probably need you to help me out working the BISS configuration

Search Re: Enigma2 and BBC / ITV at 27.5 W Intelsat - big challenge # 1601There you have a file.zip
It's missing the dvb subtitles pids, but it's just a matter of adding a "c:09xxxx0101" (where xxxx is the video pid + 4).
Also, there's an error in the BBC FOUR definition (not a biggie since it's the same as cbeebies) and some channels don't work (but I think it's because they are not available on the transponder, looking for the available channels on the web I only seems to find outdated information):
- 5 SELECT
- BBC ALBA
- BBC FOUR HD
- BBC RB 0
- BBC RB 1
- BBC Red Button
- BBC Scotland (but BBC scot works)
- BBC Scotland HD
- BBC THREE
- BBC Three HD
- CBBC HD
- More4+1
- STV HD
- TBN UK
- UTV HD

Does anybody know why these channels are impossible to stream?
I tried both with vlc, mplayer and the enigma2 plugin for kodi and I cannot see them, only on the tv directly connected to the receiver.
I also tried a recording and, again, the ts file is unplayable, but if I transcode it with ffmpeg (just ffmpeg -i unplayablefile.ts playablefile.mkv) I can play it.

They can be streamed. I do it all the time not differently respect to the other channels. I could even when using the script method, which now is not needed any more, since OpenPLI (and most receiver) can now handle these channels off the shelf. It may depend on the configuration of your receiver. Maybe giving more details someone (probably not me!) can help you better.Does anybody know why these channels are impossible to stream?
BBC Channels are also in my opinion sometimes a bit more difficult to be played. It must be a problem of codec used and installed on your PC. I can play them without conversion in one PC and not in another, nominally having the same configuration. Of course it cannot be the same, but this is what I though I had done in the course of the years. Try MPV. It works in cases others did not. Works really fine also on Android. But, again, I can install it on a Linux PC and not in another with the same OS version and twin installation. GO figure! Cheers!I tried both with vlc, mplayer and the enigma2 plugin for kodi and I cannot see them, only on the tv directly connected to the receiver. I have to confess I'm not using openpli but openatv 7 I'm quite new to the enigma2 world, I thought that, apart from the branding and skin, they were more or less the same, but now I compared both enigma2 sources on github and I see there are many differences, I didn't check if they could be relevant to the issue at hand.
Besides, on the openatv forum didn't get much help, because, encryption!
Anyway I now found that I can stream these channels if I use the transcoding link from the webif, maybe because it's remuxing the streams instead of sending them as they were?
BTW, what is the "script" method?
