I'll be releasing an XPicons version of my picons, but I would like to suggest you let your picon renderer search for the folder xpicon on all the default locations just as with the default picon, just the added x, because placing it in /usr/share/enigma2/XPicons/picon, just complicates things.

My ipk files will install to /xpicon OR /hdd/xpicon OR /usb/xpicon, depending on user selection during install from the feed.

An even better solution would be to just keep the picon folder and try to fix the EPG guide problem.

Also what is the meaning of XPicons? Haven't we passed the Windows XP era already? Wouldn't it be better to call them SHD picons, SHD meaning Super HD picons....

Just my thoughts on the whole point.

Changed my mind, I'll be releasing them straight away as SHD picons and they will be installed to picon just as it's always been, problems need to adressed the right way and standards are there to follow.

Having to install double the amount of picons is just stupid, the coolepg should be able to let the skin use bigger size picons or resize them.

So in about half an hour they will be online, if all goes wel.

next thing to fix /?/ - movie selection screen - as it is now, with one fixed item height, the list in movieselection is hardly readable (the worst is when you use the default list style /see the screenshot1/, but other styles also do not look too good)...
so, attached you'll find modified skin.xml, with reworked movieselection screen:
- setrixHD font used in list
- item heights / font sizes adjusted to each list style (see screenshot 2-5)
- recording title added at the top in the description window
- "key_color"  items' height adjusted to the font size (now fonts are cut off at the bottom)  //and the same fix for chnnelselection screen
if you find these changes worth commiting, it would be nice...
thanks
---
//I worked on a clean (before adjusting any settings) skin.xml from the 1.3 package...

thank you

Hi, what satellites/providers are included in your package? Just please be careful to replace standard icons in picons folder because it could cause more harm than benefit. For example, CoolTV guide (which is widely used) use picons 100x60. If you change the size, it will be broken. Btw, I would say XPicons has nothing to do with WindowsXP, it is meant like eXtended or something like that :-)

Sats included are 28.2, 23.5, 19.2, 13.0 and a few cable providers from the Netherlands and Germany, basically everything that people contribute is included.

If CoolTV guide can't handle large picon's than CoolTV guide is broken and should be fixed instead of we trying to workaround the problem in a not so nice way.

Just tested the SHD picons on OpenVIX and they are displayed fine, even on the graphical EPG, so probably a good idea to let the CoolTV guide's author know that his plugin has a bug when handling bigger resolution picons.

Well, yes, author of CoolTV guide could use scaling mechanism for larger icons to scale them down to given format. Somebody should contact him :-)

SHD picons look very very nice on VIx - i've just put a thread up a similar on the VIX forum :)

Thank you Ocram for the SHD picons - I'd made about 20 myself yesterday so you hsve saved me hours of work!!!!!

Only one thing though, your SHD picons don't fill the 232x132 frame, which I don't know if was intentional.  I've put below the ones I made alongside yours so hopefully you can see what I mean - would be great to squeeze out every ounce of quality!

Would it be possible for yours to file the frame? Thanks either way - Steve

If other picons/xpicons works for you, then it is problem with picons themselves. This has nothing to do with skin. Are your icons 8bit? If not, your receiver may have also problems with displaying them.

Well the funny thing is I can see the German/French/Spanish/Austrian Picons. The 23 and 28 picos don't seem to work. The XP Picons i mean.

I'm using a VU Duo +

I also had one pack of xpicons which didn't work for me. Try one from ocram, it works ;-)

a little ;) reworked Grapical Multi EPG screen (see screenshot)...
if someone wants to test how it looks on your tv:
- put an (unpacked) 'epg' folder and into /usr/share/enigma2/MetrixHD
- replace timeline-now.png in MetrixHD folder with the attched one
- replace a GraphMultiEPG section in the skin.xml with this:
  <screen name="GraphMultiEPG" position="0,0" size="1280,720" title="Electronic Program Guide" flags="wfNoBorder" backgroundColor="transparent">
    <ePixmap position="41,22" zPosition="-10" size="1205,652" pixmap="MetrixHD/back.png" borderWidth="1" borderColor="metrixDeepGrey" transparent="0" />
    <widget source="global.CurrentTime" render="Label" position="1103,28" size="140,60" font="SetrixHD; 50" halign="left" backgroundColor="metrixBackground2" transparent="1">
      <convert type="ClockToText">Default</convert>
    </widget>
    <widget source="global.CurrentTime" render="Label" position="931,37" size="161,27" font="Regular; 15" halign="right" backgroundColor="metrixBackground2" transparent="1" foregroundColor="metrixAccent1">
      <convert type="ClockToText">Format:%A</convert>
    </widget>
    <widget source="global.CurrentTime" render="Label" position="931,64" size="161,29" font="Regular; 16" halign="right" backgroundColor="metrixBackground2" foregroundColor="metrixAccent1" transparent="1">
      <convert type="ClockToText">Format:%e. %B</convert>
    </widget>
    <eLabel text="Electronic Program Guide" position="70,37" size="800,50" font="SetrixHD;35" backgroundColor="metrixBackground2" transparent="1" />
    <widget source="Event" render="Label" position="70,90" size="700,39" font="SetrixHD; 30" backgroundColor="metrixBackground2" transparent="1">

and restart enigma...
//of course I can prepare a patch for this, if skin maintainers also find these changes intersting ;)

Hello,

after a full week without problem, this morning out of nowhere, a black rectabgle with crypto info has appeared on the top left of the screen over the weather info... I checked my plugin and turn off all the options but it won't go away. I restarted enigma, changed skin and came back to MyMetrix but still there. Ring a bell? Any idea what I can do to get rid of it?

Thanks.
