athoik,

Now it works exactly like in 0.10 version, that means seeking action doesn't causes deadlock but neither it actually works, since it stays at the same position.

So I would say it solves the problem in expected way since it behaves same as in 0.10 version.

Thanks

That probably means that the PTS is not written correctly to the hardware.

Fast forward (4x - 8x ...) is working? Cause i have problems with that patch (I have another one that fixes deadlock and does not affect fast forward)

Fast forward 2x,4x,8x.. is working for me. Noticed only that 8x, 16x.. doesn't look any faster than 4x speed.

Is this a patch meant for patching gstreamer from a bb file?

Correct.

Can you make a patch for OE instead then (complete bb file + patch)?

Current OE has an older version of GStreamer 1.4.0, so in order to have the latest version we need to have bb files under meta-openpli. Is this ok? Or it is better to send patches against OE and get them on the next update?

Oh yes okay, I understand the problem, this would require a branch on the main OE repo. It can be arranged if it helps, but there won't be any build from it, of course.

Isn't there a better way to be on a more recent gstreamer then OE does? I suggest we should not be dependent on the gstreamer OE uses......

Then we can add the bb recipes within meta-openpli, currently I am using the meta-local where I am doing changes without messing with other meta's (and make update works also without problems).

GStreamer 1.4.3 is already on #143 and there are no changes, all the changes are done by bbappends.

I will upload the latest version of meta-local (with bbappends) today.

Goodie, yet another workaround in servicemp3 ;)

Is this patch safe to apply to be used in combination with 0.1 gstreamer?

The changes are too generic, so it must work on GStreamer 0.10 just fine.

Please somebody to check GStreamer 0.10 before commit this one.

Edit1. mx3L, can you check also patch against GStreamer 1.0

Nice work. About a newer gstreamer, there are _git bb files. It should be possible to use those.

There is a DEFAULT_PREFERENCE=-1 and SRCREV in the gstreamer1.0 _git bb files. The current SRCREV doesn't build for me, no time tonight to check any further.

Here is the latest version for GStreamer 1.0, bbappends contain information how not to strip binary (in case you want to use gdb). Also enigma2.bbappend has a patch that disables SIGSEV event handler (so that you can create core dump with kill -11, don't forget to run ulimit -c unlimited and delete core if exists)

Also librtmp.bbappend has a patch that enables timeout on send operations (I send this to rtmpdump mail list, if they don't accept i will send patch for our OE).

Pending Issues:

xvid -> mpeg4 https://bugzilla.gno...g.cgi?id=739196 we need to give more information why we need to know that mpeg4 is actually xvid, please leave your comments on the bug if you want this to get fixed.

dtsdownmix doesn't work, most probably it requires additional port changes, dtsdec is an an alternative.

You can find information how to use gstreamer1.0v3.tar.gz at #143,#125 (simply extract on meta-local/recipes-local and change MACHINE_ESSENTIAL_EXTRA_RRECOMMENDS to GStreamer 1.0 dvbmediasink).

Currently the GStreamer 1.0 is pre beta! (and in many cases rc1, rc2 comparing to Gstreamer 0.10)

This is an open call to developers to start building images with GStreamer 1.0

Testing, testing, testing and report issues or even better send patches that fix also issues. It would be easier to have an OE branch ready to go! Maybe update gst1.0 OE branch to current with latest GStreamer changes?
