Vuplus  audiosink must run in sync.

The multibox master sync adapted.

https://github.com/c.../commits/master

For vuplus the change dvbmediasink_conf to

DVBMEDIASINK_CONFIG = "--with-vuplus --with-wmv --with-pcm --with-eac3"

That's for vuduo2

now all correct made mkv containers are playing fine.

Use the latest  multibox sink whitout any other patch.

Do not apply other patches to enigma2 just use the standard enigma2 like it is in master.

the sample was done with mkvtoolnix, with split at 00:03:00 so that shouldn't be the issue. Of course this is happening also with the original file, I have bunch of such files.

you're right, the --with-vuplus is currently missing, will try and let you know. Also will try to strip one of the languages, to seem if that's the issue or not.

yes, passing through handbrake can fix the issue, but I do not want to reencode all of my files. Similar was happening with a completly different file with different codecs, but unfortunatly lost that due to HDD failure :(

Perhaps we should look why some mkv containers are stuck on

< 73117.122936> [eDVBFrontend] close frontend 0
action ->  InfobarAudioSelectionActions audioSelection
< 73117.505808> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished
< 73117.694073> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished
< 73117.726157> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished
< 73117.756765> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished
< 73117.789593> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished
< 73117.821828> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished
< 73117.855162> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished
< 73117.893184> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished
< 73117.929932> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished
< 73117.960638> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished
< 73117.992305> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished
< 73118.023460> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished

For that it will be more research why enigma2 does not accept the list by some mkv containers

But that's another issue then the vu+ series sync issue.

While the audiosink by dm8000 must be async always. By vuduo2 all my tests for all media confirmed that it must be sync always.

Gues the cause of this is the dvb driver.

But that's now just why I made a multibox sink. By which the box specific differences are set during build time based on --with-vuplus.

Currently whitout the --with-xxx  box it will be almost same as the base pli gst-1.0 sink

For dreambox dm8000/dm800se just the --with-dreambox must be used.

For dags --with-dags.

For vuplus series now --with-vuplus most be used (the only change there is that vu+ series will run sync by audiosink)

Alright but what about the caps for h264?
Edit: also maybe the fix for running the audio with sync for vuplus doesnt break it for other receivers. Did you try setting aac to sync for other receivers as well?

@MastaG

About the Alright but what about the caps for h264?

by vuduo2 with audio always in sync no problem

I used the sample petike but passed trough handbrake . (the endless loop < 73118.023460> [eServiceMP3] getSubtitleList finished with some mkv containers is another bug on which i will try to find a solution)

But it works fine pause/unpause resume and audio language change

log from my vuduo2 which proves it's ok :

Sorry chris, I didnt made myself clear (thats what you get when posting from a smartphone).

What I meant to say is that with gstreamer 1.5.91 master git.

I need to apply this patch for my receiver:

-        VIDEO_CAPS "; "
+    "video/x-h264; "
 #endif
 #ifdef HAVE_H263
     "video/x-h263, "

As pointed by mx3L the new gstreamer sends the caps twice which my receiver don't like.

Do you know whether this breaks anything for other receivers? (like your dm8000 or vu receiver).

As for whether to put the audio in sync (or not).

Maybe it's better to make this a general configure flag like:

--with-async-audio (for dreambox receivers and maybe others)

--without-async-audio (the default, for vu+ and others)

This way we can can experiment with it, since your sink is being used in many receivers (it's the default mediasink in oe-a).

@MastaG

h264 - I think it's premature to use this quick fix, we should let gstreamer devs know about this and then based on their response, decide if it's necessary or not. I will let them know...

async/sync - why is sync enabled for aac necessary in 1.5.9 and not in 1.5.2? We should find a cause first.

async/sync , has nothing to do with gst-1.5.1 or 1.5.9. But just dm8000/dm800se and (xxx) or vuplus series.

h264 still don't get it as by me with gst-1.5.9, e2 master and multibox-dvbmediasink  master,  whitout any patch all works fine.

I just forgot to mention another issue with vu+ series,

Those who are using LCD4Linux needs to disable the use off it.

The cause is in the .py file , they initiate a pointer concerning audio in a stage that audio info is not known yet , the result is a unexcpected use off non existend audio selection with the logic following segfault.

LCD4linux is a plugin and should not trigger a pointer initiation in enigma2 It should only use info if and only if the pointer was initiated and info avbl  but never trigger the initiation self and so bypassing any check off use .....

p.s. this is all very tricky

made some tests with my faulty MKV files. The issue seems to be with one of the mp3 tracks. But that mp3 track alone plays just fine. I remuxed also to mp4 container, the result was the same, enigma2 was hanging.

I do not know, from where this issue is coming, this behaviour is with gst 1.5.9, with 1.5.1 it was playing without hangs, but the "faulty" track was displayed as "codec=audio/mpeg language=und" instead of "codec=MPEG-1 Layer 3 (MP3) language=hu". GST-0.1 played fine these files.

checked that MP3, and it has delay and padding defined in the tags. Can this cause the issue? Any possible workaround?

Thanks.
