Hi since the big "C" update a couple of month ago i have 28 updates every day.

I have installed a new version several times .. but after a day it is 28 updates again... and it repeat itself   after i update  next day 28 updates again.

 

i just wonder if there is some trouble with the version numbers on the update server .. it isnt the right word but I hope you get what i mean.

It is more likely that some updates fail to install, so you get them again the next time you try.

 

To verify, login with telnet, and on the commandline, run "opkg update && opkg upgrade". And post any error messages here.

I just ran your commandline message  and there was no error messages.... 

 

I have to wait for tomorrow and see if the 28 updates are back again.

Hi,

 

Indeed it often the same feeling that we have everyday the update for the same package that came, I seems to me that some plugins, at every night build, have there version changed and then an update is pushed. I have got the feeling that it is always the same plugins that updates nearly everyday. But it is also possible that those are legitimate updates, for exemple I translate plugins so when a new translation is pushed the plugin is updated.

I guess that your so simple solution is to reflash the box... but I don't think that this will change anything;

So nothing wrong in the upgrade process but tomorrow morning, after the nightly build, I pretty sure to have back update for:

mediascanner, pictureplayer, networkbrowser, ..., wirelesslan,... those are some of the ones that cames up every day after nightly build.

Can be interesting to check if those plugin were really changed and really needs to be part of the today update, because I am not sure that they should come so often (daily) in the update process...

take a look at packages versions

PKGV = "2.7 git${GITPKGV}"

on any change to any file in enigma2 tree all packages from this repo are rebuilt (nightly) with an increased package version

so you end up with twenty something packages updated on every e2 change

(and the same applies to plugins-enigma2 repo: PKGV = "experimental-git${GITPKGV}")

nothing strange/wrong with that...

and regarding e2openplugins - looks to me that they're rebuilt with bumped PR on every image build, for whatever reason /?/
