Can this (exteplayer3+ffmpg 3.0) play 422 recorded .ts stream?

I tried it, and 4:2:2 streams don't work yet. Maybe someone succeeded ?

But with kodi player, I can watch 4:2:2 on my box.

El Sato, what box do you use for watching 4:2:2 streams with Kodi?

How does it work? You record a 4:2:2 stream and once the recording is finished, you open a Kodi and play it? Can you play it while the stream is still being recorded?

@Robinson

Kodi 17.4 on dm900. It should work also with other boxes.
You can record 4:2:2 streams and play them while recording,
or you can make an .m3u playlist and play stream directly with kodi videoplayer.
(you can get .m3u playlist from webif, one stream or complete bouquet)

Hi I wanted a confirmation
If by default enigma2 is set servicesapp / exteplayer3
The .m3u (.ts link) files do not work unfortunately.
When set to Default on serviceapp, they work
Thank you and sorry if I do not read 28 pages of the topic. It seemed easier to ask.

good job

I checked and this DASH live stream use profile profile:isoff-live:2011.

This profile requires constant refreshing of MPD manifest.

It is not supported at now by DASH demuxer patch.

I will take a look on this pofile and maybe I will implement it.

SSS

Hello @charlesduco,

I deployed new version of dash demux with profile:isoff-live:2011 support.

New patch version can be found here:

@fairbird

I made some improvements in last patch.
Your port to ffmpeg 3.3 does not contain them.

Please compare with:

Hello,

This is same as player based on gstreamer not use gst-launch-1.0

Anyway gst-launch is very useful for test and can be used by plugin.

Same with ffmpeg.

So, I think if @Taapat what to remove ffmpeg birnary it should also remove binaries like gst-launch-1.0.

For me it is frivolous.

Regards,

SSS

If ffmpeg is required for a test, then you can install it manually.
If it is needed for plugin, then it should be specified in plugin depends.

I know that you have problems with building packages, and you are trying to create one package with one binary file.
But using the OE such problems not exist and you can use only the packages what is really necessary.

@Taapat

You have problem with manny things. But this is not a topic about this.

I give you example with gst-launch-1.0.

But you are not interested in arguments.

You are interested in a personal attack.

But this is funny. You are writing to me what is needed or what is not needed by the exteplayer3.

You who do not understand the advantage of running the player as a separate process.

Really funny :)

Can anyone please confirm 4:2:2 working in this way with VU+, ET, HD51 etc.?

Thank you.

there will be a complete solution for y'all in the repo once the RC for 6.0 hits.

serviceapp can be installed from the plugins menu and will automatically pull in gstplayer and the latest exteplayer3 built against ffmpeg-3.3.

For the final release, it'll also include SSS' latest fixes for mpeg-dash live streaming.

No more manually installing ipk's and shit :)

Kodi requires OpenGL ES drivers to be available for your receiver.

If your receiver have such drivers available then it should be possible.

But afaik there are many receivers which have support in their soc but not in the drivers (probably due to licensing/nda costs)

@MastaG - Thanks but isn't 6.0 already a RC? I was asking because on Vu Solo there was Extplayer installed but no ffmpeg. However after testing extplayer was not working.

@Moonwalker extplayer has never used the ffmpeg binary file.
Extplayer uses only some ffmpeg libraries.
Ffmpeg binary file is used only to manage the ffmpeg librarys but it does not necessary for extplayer.

Why do you think that extplayer does not work?

Umm ok but in the IPTV player wiki the instructions are to install the full ffmpeg binary which takes too much space on VU solo.
