That's all clear to me.
You start from independent compils.
I suspect the user gorski a compile from the oe-git-branch thud. There you will also find the latest ffmpeg 4.0.2, if you delete the parent ffmpeg from the OE-Alliance.
Of course, then the exteplayer3 is built with ffmpeg4. In order to use this but then in your e2iplayer it needs the above-mentioned change.

I did not want to mention anything else.
In the description of the error without further information I had therefore also asked directly for version.

The exteplayer3 is not recognized because it was built with ffmpeg4 and the e2iplayer does not recognize it.

But were you have exteplayer3 compiled with ffmpeg v4?

 

As I know exteplayer3 does not compile with ffmpeg v4 due to API changes, and there are need changes in the source code of the exteplayer3 to addapt to this API changes.

 

So were you have exteplayer3 source code which is able to compile with ffmpeg v4?

I wanted to show only where the error comes from, which was later presented by the user.
He has built with ffmpeg 4 and also the exteplayer3.
Only he has forgotten that the e2iplayer only recognizes certain ffmpeg versions.

I also build my own pli with 4 version and it works without problems.
Is this all perfect?

Just to clarify: I am not a coder and I do not build anything like that.

 

I used an image which comes with ffmpeg package and so far - in many previous versions - it all worked well with IPTV/E2iPlayer but now it didn't, so I asked a question...

 

Even if I used ServiceApp with Exteplayer 3 - nada, zilch...

 

But I have an image of what is happening, thanx...

There is needs to be adapt exteplayer3 code to the ffmpeg v4 API changes. I thought someone did this already.

Certainly this is not optimal, but it works.
As I said, I'm sure I have no idea compared to you.
I just make and am satisfied with the Image for sh4.

Everything within this build environment will then be built with ffmpeg 4. So also the exteplayer 3.

But maybe I do not understand you right?

As I said, I build this for a long time and then adjust the e2iplayer accordingly. Easy to test.
Dash is not optimized then. A basic dash function is included in ffmpeg since 3.4.2. But you know that better than me anyway.

As I understand you are using such one, so this should not be a problem. 

 

Simple attach exteplayer3 binary from your image.

By ffmpeg options you should understand any option which can be set on AVFormatContext

 

You are asking about ffmpeg utility options which are not  AVFormatContext options.

Since compilation problems due to API changes were reported to me by the other user.

Thanks, guys. I must find time to verify reported "API changes" problem with compilation.

 

If the exteplayer3 compiles with ffmpeg 4 then your @rantanplan patch indeed had sense.

 

My fault that I use information from third hand. I should check this by myself.
