No clue. I haven't made it, and I never use my boxes for anything other than what they're made of: to watch TV. ;)

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Btw, SSS makes various distinction between external (extplayer3, ext gstplayer) and internal player of E2 etc.

May be SSS or someone who studied the "ServiceApp" can explain interactions between this plugin and E2 players...

Indeed, I would like really to know if I'm using "exteplayer3" or the SoC when I'm setting the E2 playback system to "ServiceApp" and the player to "exteplayer3". Currently, answer seems not crystal clear for me!!

Have you seen IPTV Player and specifically the config for Extplayer3?

@gorski
  - I'm not using ITPV Player

  - What do you mean by "Have you seen the config for ExtPlayer3"? is there an explanation of the "ServiceApp" plugin inside?

To go further in the investigation, it seems "ExtPlayer3" is not running when a DVB stream (Service type "1") is played. No specific player is seen in the running process list. "ExtPlayer3" app appears only when a service type "4097" is played.
So, it seems "ServiceApp" is not impacting service type "1" and SoC player is involved as default one.

Hi,

When ExtPlayer is enabled I lose my epg data, is this normal or just my setup?

Thanks in advance

If someone is interested with playback live streams from YouTube using exteplayer3 then I prepared patch for ffmpeg to improve/fix playback such streams.

The patch is available here:

I also precompiled ffmpeg libraries for following configurations:
- ffmpeg3.2.2_mipsel_fpu_hard_openssl1.0.2_dash_librtmp_native_rtmp.tar.gz
- ffmpeg3.2.2_mipsel_fpu_soft_openssl1.0.2_dash_librtmp_native_rtmp.tar.gz
- ffmpeg3.2.2_armv7_fpu_hard_openssl1.0.2_dash_librtmp_native_rtmp.tar.gz
- ffmpeg3.2.2_sh4_openssl1.0.2_dash_librtmp_native_rtmp.tar.gz

The packages can be found here:

Hi,

I am using Vu+ Solo se with VTI image. I have intalled the latest systemplugin serviceapp. My service is 4097, so my question is I have sometimes framedrops in playback in high bitrate channels. How can I solve this problem. I have also tried openatv and pli image, they are a little bit better but they haven't solve my problem. How can I use these files.

First testing of ffmpeg 3.4.2 on my spark receiver using YouTube addon works great:

@MastaG, if you're again going to patch ffmpeg, please add some options to ffmpeg I now have to patch in myself, notably video and audio filters. I don't think it can hurt to have them in.

@Erik Slagter
The patches are mainly improvements and additions for it's use with stb receivers (mostly to be used with exteplayer3).

The options that control what to enable/disable are in the bbappend.
I've enabled the options that were required to use ftmpeg for creating bootlogo's with custom textfilters.

If anything's missing feel free to edit the bbappend.

I understand but why leave out the audio and video filters? I can't imagine it makes such big difference in size.

Changing the bbappend I already did, locally, but it's not suitable for inclusion in public.

Yeah.. I feel the same way..
I think it's best to enable everything.
Perhaps you can share the bbappend.
Then I'll do some testing here as well :)

This is my bbappend, copied from the original and replaced only one line, the others commented out, for clarity. This wil enable "everything" without dragging in more external libraries.

Hi!

Are there any command lines for monitoring status of exteplayer3 while watching IPTV via buckets?

I want to:

1) Restart exteplayer3 when it freeze for minute. Now I have to manually switch to another channel and then switch back for restarting.

2) Show bitrate in skin

3) Show selected hls http link in skin

4) And show other options

Hello folks,

I am using the serviceapp with Exteplayer3 for some streams. but not every hoster accepting the User-Agent: Lavf/57.83.100

How can I use a custom User-Agent?

Kind regards,

cuku
