Does this file go to a folder:
/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Screens/
I'il try it in tomorrow morning..

I tried, but I'm not very clear on what this code do. In my opinion nothing was changed, or I can not find it or there is still something missing.

When I look into the code, it didn't bring me any clarity.

Hi Zeros,

 

This NumericalTextInput.py code drives text entry for the SMS style text entry panel.  It is often the character grid you see just before you press TEXT to launch the VirtualKeyBoard.  I think most Setup screens that have a text entry screen are using NumericalTextInput.

I can't see how this would/should work, as there is no file 'NumericalTextInput.py' in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Screens/
There is however a file named 'NumericalTextInputHelpDialog.py'.

My deepest apologies. The new NumericatTextInput.py goes into the "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Tools/" directory as an update to the copy that already exists in there.

 

(I have a builder here and I am quite distracted.  Sorry for the misdirect.)

I did restart. When I removed the Mod files and added the original file, box somewhay get in stuck. I just restored it from my fullbackup then.

The most obvious thing to see if you are running the new version is that there are a heck of a lot more characters available to select via the "0" button.

Not all my changes will have dramatic UI changes.  Some of them are code clean ups or internal option improvements.

 

You will see some of the new features of NumericalTextInput when my new Setup system is ready to show and test.

Can you add characters in a country based on the zero button? For example, to be added ' õ, ä, ö, ü ' for Estonia.

Hi Zeros,

 

This facility is already available.  The NumericalTextInput already processes special character sets for the following languages:

"cs_CZ",
"de_DE",
"es_ES",
"fi_FI",
"lv_LV",
"nl_NL",
"pl_PL",
"ru_RU",
"sv_SE",
"sk_SK",
"uk_UA"

All you need to do is tell me what characters you want for "et_EE" and where you want them to appear and it can be done.  What I ask is that you copy out the current English contents of the 10 number keys and then add or insert the characters you want in the places where you want them to appear.  If you can provide the 4 digit hex unicode representation of the characters that would be VERY helpful.  If you can't then don't worry to much as you can check my work when you proofread the revised table.

 

I should also offer this same update facility for all users whose language is not represented or the characters are not exactly correct.  Please spread the word on this so I get get all the changes done as quickly as possible.

This crash looks like it is due to the VirtualKeyBoard image files not being in the correct location.  Can you please check the files are located as per the instructions /doc/VIRTUALKEYBOARD and report back.  I have attached a full image set for your reference.

 

The latest VirtualKeyBoard.py code is already in the OpenPLi repository.  It will be in OpenViX and Beyonwiz soon.  NumericalTextInput.py is still being refined.  Updates will appear here soon.  When refined it will also be submitted to the repositories.
