This has already been mentioned many times and requires adaptation by the manufacturer.
Similar to the Hbbtv, Kodi must then be corrected accordingly by the manufacturer.
With regard to the compiler and the gst / ffmpeg used, some things will not fit.
If things were openly available, then one could help.
So it's closed source.
Patches would be possible, but I doubt whether this is desirable with VU +.
Maybe someone is in contact and can clarify this.

Ok. On Vu + Solo2 the values are also overestimated, because they show the same as on OpenPLi 7.3. And if you can specify the location of this file, I will replace it from version 7.3. Best regards

These values are in the compiled binary enigma2.

How do you know the values are overestimated, it's a different box with different tuners and different tuner sensitivities?

The professional meter https://mierniki.tel...-hd-tab-9-plus/ also showed the values of 100% quality.

The values shown are "pulled out of thin air", but when we decided to remove them because they are useless, people started yelling and complaining. Appearently, people prefer to see incorrect data to no data.;)

The problem is that there is no direct access to the raw BER data, so we have to rely on what the drivers provide us, and

  • very driver for every tuner gives different data
  • the data isn't liniar, while a conversion formula always is

so forget ever getting any closer than "a very rough estimate".

Regarding KODI install.

I just want to share my test.

Ultimo4k with 7.3 in flash and OpenMultiboot with RC8.0 on USB

Clean RC8.0 and install KODI from feed = Starting KODI gives black screen for 2 sec and then back to channel used before.

Reinstall RC8.0 with option "keep settings" is installing KODI in that process = KODI runs and showing picture but no sound.

Just my situation.

Exactly same situation here. With clean installation of RC8.0 Kodi doesn't install properly on Ultimo4K directly from the default plugin feed. I reported that a week ago...

In order to install it properly, additionally you have to go to Setup>Software management>Advanced options>Packet management and then install the following packages:

Kodi and kodiegl-vuultimo4k. For the sound i believe something else needs to be installed as well...

So we have a dependency problem? When you install the plugin, kodi itself is not installed?

KODI is at least partly installed from feed as it in the plugin list but and somewhat it try to start, see my post#207.

i did notice when installing on Clean RC8.0 i saw an error during install  "sigbus" and something more.

I can´t get into my Ultimo4K in at least a week so maybe "marto" can give some more info.

(I am also keen to se some prograss on DUO2 and KODI but that is a different issue)

Exactly! When you install from the feed, Kodi appears in the plugin browser, but when you try to start, it doesn't start.

Same happens to ChromiumOS. Looks like some dependancies are missing.

How can I install Kodi on Vu+ Solo2?

If it is not available in the plugin extensions, you can't. Afaik it doesn't run on all VU+ boxes (can't remember which ones).

I have no idea what it needs.

It is not something we provide, and it the author doesn't provide the source and doesn't add the correct dependencies in his ipk file, it's only guessing what exactly it needs.

It might even be something no longer available in the current OE.

I've checked the OpenPLi 7.x feed, but there is no other python package that this one in the feeds.

8.0 rc working fine on sf8008 i didnt find any issue.
Only thing i notice is that like in 7.3 openpli cant delete an inactive slot completely, because it remain in multiboot selection and delete partition in recovery menu.
With oe-a images if you delete a slot its gone for good with no leftovers.
