Yes it can make kernel and drivers for a lot stb boards.

I am wondering even silicon is listed.

It wil take a time to find source for module dvb and the

board specifications from the GB.

Nice work to do

It is just a linux kernel. It doesn't contain any source specific to the DVB side of the SoC. So, completely useless.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

if have written wat possible the problem
on GB is.
GB seems to have only 1 encoder.
enigma needs minimum 2 free encoders.
the proxy can work with one encoder while
the input Come from a ip stream to
local host.
for the GB users it wil be better if the
proxy Come back to the feed

I don't know how you come to this conclusion. I do not have any memory of having seen code that demands this.

Yeah right, the USB tuners. They have existing (non-Broadcom-specific) chips, which have had GPL drivers for absolutely years.

Trust me, you will not find any code in the public regarding anything of the internal hardware of Broadcom SoCs (including the transcoding engine).

Even if you would, it would be of little use as you'd the complete SDK environment to build the drivers AND you would need detailed knowledge of the hardware, which, believe me, is complex. Part of the SoC is pure hardware, part of it is somewhere between hardware and software, think programmable FPGA stuff. Also you cannot just "add" a transcoder, it will need hardware support not all SoC's have.

So yes, basically we're screwed. The most interesting stuff, the stuff that really matters, is in the closed source parts and we will never be able to do anything about it.

Just use the plugin from this thread and transcoding will work.

The rest is wasted time ;) .

I do not agree:

- it's really not a plugin but the packaged VU+ "transtreamproxy" binary.

- why not try to find why it doesn't work on GB and fix it

Absolutely nothing in there related to DVB.

Iám looking

You can not figure it out in a few hours.

That source enable communication to the soc

There are many config options for building the kernel

in stblinux/arch/arm

most is for bcm2xxx give me the time to figure it out

Linux tree have a lot dvb tuner sources how can you compile

a dvb tuner without dvb in the source ?

The dvb header files are needed
