Something like this...?

text="Swap SNR in percentage with SNR in dB" description="This option allows you to show the SNR as a percentage were the skin intends to show SNR and show % as SNR where the skin intends to show % (not all receivers do support SNR in dB, then always % is shown)."

That seems good to me.

Found why OpenVIX doesn't find my network: it does a daft Google DNS check, and I block port 53 outgoing, as I run an internal DNS service on my firewall. @Huevos, you might want to revise that?

Not to me.

That still says "if I opt to select No, it means no swap is done, and I will see the SNR in percentages". Which is NOT TRUE for any skin that defaults to dB's.

If option is NO it does what is defined in the skin... so this describe exactly what it does.... NO/OFF/RED no swap... as defined by the skin.... YES/ON/GREEN swap.... do it the different way...

->

I understand... and indeed you should now... weird that it crashes... But it could also be they expect something from an image we do not have yet... so it crashes on OpenPLi because they did not catch it up.... They scan as far I know for boxinfo stuff and maybe removed legacy. This means all images that still are using legacy style leads to they cannot select an image anymore.

No, it doesn't. Can no one read proper English here?

text="Swap SNR in percentage with SNR in dB" description="This option allows you to show the SNR as a percentage were the skin intends to show SNR and show % as SNR where the skin intends to show % (not all receivers do support SNR in dB, then always % is shown)."

This says "Swap SNR in percentage with SNR in dB", which means "the default is SNR ^%" and you can change it to "SNR dB" by changing this setting to Yes.

Which is NOT TRUE for any skin which displays dB's by default.

It's like saying "Swap Blue by Red". If the default is Red, setting this to Yes still says Blue will be changed by Red, not the other way around. You can not say "swap A by B Yes/No" if you don't know if the default is A or B...

Maybe the main text of the option can be
"Swap SNR measurment units between % and dB"
Maybe then will be clear?

Where?

If I say to you "Swap your Euros by Pounds Yes/No", and all you have are Pounds, who in his right would expect that answering "Yes" to that question magically changes your Pounds into Euros ?

Maybe the main text of the option can be
"Swap SNR measurment units between % and dB"

You get it, yes.

It is implemented as a toggle, so it should say something like "Toggle the SNR values displayed" with "When set to 'Yes", all locations where SNR is displayed in dB's will show an SNR percentage, and vice versa" because that is what I understand it does....

It still means end-users need explaining that when they load a different skin, the default can change, which can be confusing ( as all other config values are fixed and have only one meaning ). There was already an end-user question about this confusing config item.

It is implemented as a toggle, so it should say something like "Toggle the SNR values displayed" with "When set to 'Yes", all locations where SNR is displayed in dB's will show an SNR percentage, and vice versa" because that is what I understand it does....

Also a good description.... Especially because it is short it might even be better. But there is one remark... when the tuner does not allow show SNR in dB -and/or- the code cannot recalculate it in SNR (this is also happening, long live enigma2)... then it is always anywhere in percentage. I would prefer to hide this option in those cases, but it is tuner driven and not box driven...

There is no root image, it is an SF8008.

My guess is OpenVIX has issues detecting the define image, which isn't (really) a traditional Enigma2 image.

slot 3 is the slot I flashed online with the latest OpenVIX yesterday:

The only gripe I still have with it all, is that the config value has no clear and defined state, but depends on the whim of the skin designer.

As an example: if you run OpenPLi 9, with the default FullNight-HD skin, and setting to No, you will see dB's in the skin. Now you upgrade to OpenPLi 10, with DarkOS as default skin, you restore your config, and the dB's are gone, you now have SNR %.

This is going to cause a lot of forum complaints from end-users...

It would have been a lot better to simply have a config value "Show SNR as" with options "Db / % ", which makes it clear and unambiguous what the user wants to see, irrespectively of the skin.

A good point... but I think it is even better to show dB in basic skin locations... so this skin swaps it within the skin.... Then it is the 'same' as far I know with most skins.... from the Enigma1 time as soon dB was introduced in the DMM7000.... dB became the standard!!! But the years this seems to be still within our standard skins, but some skins stay on %..... for ever....

I understand to have two configs... That is also confusing as how do you call it in the skin... SNR 1/SNR 2? SNR A/SNR B?

I still think that it is better also swapping them within this skin...

Really % should be the default because that works on all boxes.
