Part of it is simply old age, I started when punch cards were the norm. I'm using linux since 1997, and part of the PLi team since 2006. So you pick some things up along the way.

I'm not a real PLi developer, I don't really like Python, and I haven't written any serious C since 1992. Put I am fluent in some other languages, and I read code very well .

I have no idea, I'm not a skin designer. Not even a real developer, so no idea where to start looking.

The skin should have a skin.xml (and maybe other xml's) which should define the startup wizard screens, and that should in turn provide a reference to which image it is supposed to load.

But if the creator doesn't know that, I'm not sure I would want that skin on my box...

I know the lunix models have a race condition in the BSP relating to the splashlogo, always a nightmare when building for the first time, you need to do a "bitbake cleanall" of the splash bootlogo, before trying to build again.

Qvairt never fixed that, while Xsarius did (same hardware, same developer, guess Qviart never wanted to pay for the fix).

To start with an open door: isn't it better to fix the overscan on the TV, instead of losing 5% or more of the image?

The overscan config is stored in /etc/enigma2/settings, with keys starting with "config.plugins.OSDPositionSetup".

Ik heb al tijden geen driver fixes gezien, en behalve zgemma zie ik ook niemand meer die uberhaupt een developer heeft om dat soort fixes aan te brengen.

De huidige boxen zijn allemaal van het type dozenschuiver: eenmalige orders van pallets aan OEM handel, eens uitverkocht is het einde box.

You install a test image for developers, of which we EXPLICITLY state is not suitable for end-users. You ignore that, you run into issues, and then you have the balls to come here and complain?
