@Dima73,

No problems this time. All looks normal, no extra path media/sdb1.

I can not offer any reasons why this happened, other than what was on my screen.

So please accept my apology if I the problem was external to your excellent plugin. I will keep you informed should anything strange occurs.

I suppose all that is left to test is the clean-up of old back-up's.

Thank You for you patience ColinB :)

@Dima73,

just though I should add a little info that new users may not know.

I was watching a scheduled recording live last night and "AFB" started up during the recording (as planned). Other than a brief On Screen message, the recording continued as normal with NO interference in the watched live recording. I re-flashed the BU and observed no obvious difference to a BU made without a recording in progress. I later played the recording and saw no interruption of any kind during the time that the Plugin ran.

So in summary, your plugin should run in the background and not interfere with timers, although Channel changes are not possible when its running. (XP1000 single tuner)

Excellent :)

Two questions:
1 - what are the differences between 2.9 and 3.0?
2 - why version 3.0 isn't available from PLi downloads?

Thanks :)

Feed Version still showing ver2.8 which does NOT backup rootfs, although it make a 0kb file (XP1000)

Version 3.0 works fine

For instance: insert the USB-stick in a Windows machine and create a file with notepad

Save the file with the name: dwaine85.fbackup on the USB-stick

Make sure there is a file on the stick with whatever name but with the extension .fbackup

Cheers.  Does the backup take long?  I have started one but it seems stuck on creating root.ubi

Depending on the receiver, on a solo2 it takes less than 2 minutes, on a slower machine like an XP1000 it can take 5-7 minutes. And if you're waiting on that it seems like ages these 7 minutes.

Depends on your box and how much plugins, picons,.. are installed. I would say between 3 and 10 minutes.

Maybe Littlesat would be so kind to update the 3rd party feed to version to 3.0 (for the VU's, Xtrends and MK-Digital)

As the build server stops the 3rd party feed also stops to upgrade...

Yep, but this version was of November 2nd. If the buildserver is up and running again would you add this version to the 3rd party feeds?

I have been using the 2nd November version with "UBINIZE_ARGS="-m 2048 -p 128KiB" line 49" mod.

So not am not sure if this is still relevant,

but using manual backup, the background mode does not clear the menu from the screen .

Unlike Schedule mode in which the menu appears during a watched channel for a few seconds and disappears.
