And can you switch off the downmix that way???

 

Yes on my tests it works. When the setting is downmix i can hear the sound. When the setting is passthrough i cannot hear the sound (i don't have amplifier).

 

It's the same behaviour like on openpli dvbmediasink, on opepli dvbmediasink you are not adding dts caps when downmix is enabled. On my patch i remove the already added caps when downmix is enabled.

I'm using this on my DM8000,  pass through and downmix work just fine for DTS, however, what it doesn't do is handle the DTS 5.1 core from a DTS HD track.

 

When I used before the Newnigma solution on DMM based images this was possible.

 

Any solution ?

what does it do in that case, does it playback the legacy DTS data, or doesn't it playback anything?

What the Newnigma solution does is playback the legacy DTS data from a DTS HD track as you put it which is what I meant by DTS core 5.1.

 

This solution doesn't playback, there is just silence with downmix and pass through.

strange, because the legacy data is always first, I would expect dtsdownmix to ignore the substream, and play the legacy data.

If your file has extension m2ts change it to mkv and try again.

Probably you need patched gst-plugin-dreambox-dvbmediasink.

 

Wait until changes show up, images build from sources (for dm800se and dm500hd) work with no problem.

In order to display LPCM audio instead of audio/x-private1-lpcm what we need to change?

 

We are getting this value when we are calling the getTrackInfo. The value of  m_audioStreams codec is getting value here and here.

 

Probably the gst_tag_list_get_string is not returning LPCM audio, this requires patches on GStreamer right?

 

Also the gstCheckAudioPad is returning atUnknown for audio/x-private1-lpcm? We need to add atLPCM on enum and handle it?

dts is downmixed to lpcm, and the caps info is retrieved from the audiosink, so you get lpcm
