Yes , But there is a important patch in enigma2 servicemp3.c which will come soon . At this time mx3L is working on it (I tested a first part of it by my enigma2 builds).

If that patch is finished and in all sink issues by mkv container movies with filesrc have a perfect pause/unpause whitout sync issues and or weird jumps.

The change in my experimental branch (last to commits ) Is just a reverse of the work around I used in gstaudiosink , this was ok for almost all filesrc movies . But not super for some live streams.

When e2 servicemp3 is adapted I will merge the changes into master branch. And I'm also working on the mpeg-4 issue now.

Note I've seen a lot off issues and it's indeed all after 1.5.9 this on my both stb's (vuduo2 and dm8000).

One some MPEG-1 movies the tag event starts running wild like it is stuck in a endless loop somewhere.

ON MPEG-2 movies with variable bitrate freezeing video's freeze continu freeze continu and ...

Then looks that HLS streams which worked ok before do not work anymore.

Yeah, but the HLS issue may as well be related to gstreamer itself.

Since I've reverted many commits for your mediasink and it didn't bring any improvements.

While for gstreamer 1.5.x it was working.

So anyways, here's two HLS streams which pretty much follows the spec.

http://wildhitz.rr.k....ism/index.m3u8

http://kpnvideo.rr.k...smil/index.m3u8

Try to play them from Enigma2 on first-gen VU+ receivers or Dreambox receivers.

They'll most likely fail.

Anyways great to see you and mx3L working on it again :-)

I'll await the Enigma2 patch.

A feedback to m3u8 Stream on my Dreambox 7020HD

m3u8 streams

Have a transmitter integrated as m3u8, permanently I see Buffering above 4% then Buffering 98%
Is it possible this display of information off is already annoying when you look TV.

The second is the m3u8 when switching streams it will not be recognized properly takes several seconds until the sound and the picture.

TS streams

A change in the same streams on TS brings the following changes with it:
Faster switching times for the sound comes and goes continuously, image also.

m3u8 on m3u8

Switching will take up to 13 seconds

there is no audio codec by those strings. But the video does work ok on vuduo2 with gst-1.6.1. (also when playing with browser or vlc no audio codec avbl)

Are you sure?

Both HLS streams have audio here on VLC (form RPMFusion on Fedora 22).

EDIT: You're right, only the first stream has audio.

The bigbuckbunny video seems to be broken :/

Here's a test player: http://osmfhls.kutu.ru/

Try to paste the first link: http://wildhitz.rr.k....ism/index.m3u8
You can see all bitrates and it switches automatically.

On my DM800Se I only get the lowest one and only the audio will play.

It was working in older versions of gstreamer, also for Dreambox receivers.

Yes looks to be big problems, with gstreamer self. problem I can't find any reason or not enough serious info for a bug report.

Yes dreamboxco.
Your m3u8 streams are probably fragmented (chunked streaming). These are currently broken in gstreamer 1.6 and 1.6.1 on dreambox and first-gen vu+ receivers.

I'll see if building upstream gstreamer (master git) brings any improvements.

Dont expect miracles ;-)
I went trough most of the upstream commits and I can't see any major changes for fragmented streaming.
But who knows.

I will go away on vacation next week.
However the Japhar team offered to host the feed for the testing images.

So I'll wait for mx3L and Chris to finish up the e2 patch and push it to master.

Then if I still have enough time I'll build for each and every receiver a new image with upstream gstreamer and push a feed.
