I don't want to boot from usb, all I need is an image that works in normal flash, I did strip ubifs from the kernel in my own PLi4 builds, that works fine !

gjstroom is right, i flashed OpenPLi 4.0 on dm800se and is stucking while loading kernel.

The funny thing is that Merlin3 works on flash too and has bigger kernel (2860919 vmlinux-3.2-dm800se.gz)

Anyway at least we have a workaroung for now. Boot from USB.

But why image doesn't work on flash?

we should probably just remove that stuff, nobody knows whether it ever served any good.

* recipes/enigma2: remove no more used enigma2.sh, push srcrev
* enigma2: use libpassthrough when available, push srcrev to fix radiomode
* add dreambox-libpassthrough to support DTS-HD -> DTS conversion for passthrough (for TS/M2TS)

So libpassthrough was used to support TS/M2TS DTS-HD -> DTS conversion for passthrough.

Hello,

Using the latest OpenPLi 4.0 for dm800se kernel boots (on flash) sucessfully. Also Enigma2 starts.

So image is getting more usable. ;)

I think you have not even tried ...

And yes there are bigger kernels around that boot nicely.

Yes, I tried Merlin that's around 2.7MB. Maybe you can enlighten us whats wrong with the PLi kernel, why can't it exceed 2.4.-2.5MB  ?

Media and DTS Downmix is working.

3rd party plugins (not openPLi 3rd party) that rely on old OpenSSL need recompile in order to work.

Now about the speed, it depends, i keep my image with the bare minimum, so speed was never a problem (Although i noticed a small delay when booting. It takes more time until Enigma2 starts to load).

And yes there are bigger kernels around that boot nicely.

But how, what is wrong with OpenPLi kernel, do you have a clue?

OoZooN Kernel is even bigger as it includes also my initramfs patch. So it is not about size that matters ;)

And you can read the bootlog on your own. As part of my ubidump tests I unpacked PLi4 yesterday on my dm7020hd with lates OoZooN in Flash and it boots and works nicely from USB.

The kernel size affects only dm800se, and there is no error when trying to load the kernel. Also when you boot from usb there is no issue, kernel boots.

Here are the boot log messages: http://openpli.org/f...e-2#entry370358

Reflash and FTP will never ask you for a password again.

(It has always been a bad idea to forward FTP ports to the internet, now it's beyond just bad...)

Did oscam_1.20-rev-8891-oe2.0 will work on pli 4.0 like now on pli 3.0,or we need special compiled oscam like oscam-pli4-svn8891-ssl-libusb ?

So the plugins like dreamexplorer, oscam info or multiquickbutton will install without problem from original pli feed?
