Hi,
Does AutoBackup plugin backup by default the /etc/passwd file?
Then on fresh installation, no need to change password.
Thank you for the answer.

I can't remember ever selecting it, and after every flash I still have my own password set, so I would say "Yes".
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Thank you for the confirmation.
I thought so that's why i asked the question.
So i just uninstalled the plugin, and reinstalled it using the online feed. (version 2.0+git52)
Then checked backup.cfg file in Autobackup folder in Extensions. (I think that this file contains the default back up files)
And the content is:
/etc/dropbear/dropbear_rsa_host_key /etc/CCcam.cfg /etc/CCcam.prio /etc/CCcam.channelinfo /etc/CCcam.providers /etc/exports /etc/radegast.cfg /etc/newsreader.conf /etc/NETcaster.conf /etc/resolv.conf /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf /etc/autoinstall /etc/backup.cfg /etc/network/interfaces /etc/samba/smb.conf /etc/enigma2/ /home/root/.ssh/ /home/root/.profile /etc/tuxbox/config/ /etc/init.d/rcS.local
I am on DM800HDse with Pli4
It seems that mine is not set to back up password file.

Ok, i understood now that fstab, passwd and shadow files are backed up by settings-backup.sh script.
I confirm that during the back up process these 3 files are copied to /tmp/ folder and included in /tmp/restore.cfg file.
But at last step, they are not included in the .tar file created in /hdd/backup/ folder
What's wrong?

ok need to correct above statement, these files are included in tar archive under /tmp/ folder.
Will check correct behavior on next fresh installation.
Sorry ...

Hi,
Yesterday i've done a fresh flash on my DM800HDse.
And guess what, my passwd wasn't restored (i get the default blank password).
I have one question.
If i carefully looks into settings-backup.sh there is no mention of shadow file. (fstab and passwd files are partially restored)
So why this file if backed up and not restore? (sorry if it's a dumb question)
also an other question, is there a way to install some plugins which ipk are store on my box hdd on first boot after fresh install?
thank you for the feedback.

Me again,
In settings-backup.sh if i replace :
passwd by shadow
passwds by shadows
My favorite backup is restored!
(after having set passwd, backup, change passwd, launch modified settings-backup.sh script --> my initial backup is back)

Hi,
Again i have a done a fresh installation yesterday and my customized password wasn't restored.
Also, i have selected manually some files to be backed up and restored by Autobackup plugin.
And the last file of backup.cfg file wasn't restored after my fresh install (even if it has been correctly backed up, I check it is present in the back up archive)!
backup.cfg contains 4 lines, and only 3 first were restored.
Am I doing something wrong???
Can anyboby confirm that its customized password is correctly restored on fresh installation?
Thank you
