Yes if you had an audio cd wich was made with is09660 format it's just a normal data cd. Then it's mounted using iso9660 and the files on it are just a normal playlist. like it was an usb stick or hdd.

Libcdio is not used in that case. Gues that's the problem with some off (self made cd's).

 

 

No it is a regular original audio CD wich can be played by a regular CD player with only raw cd-audio support.

 

When insert that audio CD in dreambox it is mounted like a cd-rom/dvd.

 

When telnet to media/sr0 i get this:

The CD was playing well a few weeks ago. When i removed kernel-module-cdfs i was getting the same situation as now.

Installing kernel-module-cdfs back and CD was playing well.

 

There is some software for MAC/Windows computers on the audio CD.

 

But for CD's without extra bling bling it working well.

Tested more than 20 CD's. 3 with problems

 

2 CD's do nothing at all due to iso9660.

 

1 CD Tracklist ok with songtitles but player does not start.

 

The rest ok.

 

GSOD on playlist.e2pls ..well only if i change the CD not on a descently way.

Yes I see it's a cd which has an iso9660 partition and a standard audio cd. That iso9660 part is for no interest for us.

Here another patch for hotplug-e2-helper, should also play those cd's with not only redbook (audio only layer)

 

By this patch I added for extra info a file which shows the cd media-type and number off tracks as check.

This file should be found in /media/ and called cdromcontents.txt curious what is announced by the 3 cd's which are not working.

That's could be libcdio problem gues so.

 

With the cd which stops, did You try to just stop de playing (not pause) and then got to next track (with regular rem control arrows not the > ) and press ok when focus is on second track ?

 

For those two cd's (as temporary testing I just added a log file in /media called cdromcontents.txt ) can You post what it says by the 2 cd's which are ok now ?

Cause it lookes that the cd3 is off format 100 (audio only )

After You insert and remove a cd once , You have about 29 times same , Is that so ?

Reason is that the bdpoll  is restarted so much times. ,

I include here a busybox patch for gst-1 branch with correct mdev.conf

 

p.s. Note if You edit the mdev.conf on the box , you must reboot the box in a clean way. No hard reset with power button. Otherwise if you for example edit the mdev.conf on the box, cut off the power reset the power, the mdev.conf is an empty file at restart.

Why do not have a clue but on my dm8000 it's like that.

So i apply your patch in the build-environment and flash the box. Then ok.HDD and DVD still working.

Yes but that because You did not a clean boot after You changed the contents off mdev.conf, also if you updated the mdev.conf and changed the file rights the rights and owner off that file may not be changed , then also even with clean reboot it would be blancked.

 

But the safest way is via rebuild bussybox and update (or forced reinstall  bussybox if you just rebuild with same version number) followed by reboot.

 

Yes that's one track is like it must be.

It could be that track one is an invalid one.

 

How You could test that :

 

After You inserted the cd , it will start playing  followed by gstreamer error.

Just stop the playing with stop knwo on remote. exit mediaplayer. Leave cd in . start Mediaplayer trough applications (not with playcd). Once You are in Mediaplayer You still will see the obrained cd tracklist. Use bouquet + button on remote to switch to the playlist, then browse to track 2 or three and press ok. If then it's playing i think I can find a solution to solve the problem.

Did exactly what you said.

 

Tracklist in mediaplayer is empty.

 

Only via main/play-audio-cd there is a tracklist.

I could try to make a image file of that CD and upload it to dropbox,webtransfer or whatever. But that takes some time because i do not have a blanco CD to test at the moment.

 

So you can see it yourself.

 

Otherwise it leads to a never ending story.

Ok would be nice to have a exact image off that special cd. Currently I reworked a couple off things. Will post later on complete new enigma2 patch on the latest enigma2 master. + new hoplug helper e2 patch.

By me now all runs fine even on vuduo2 with external usb cdrom writer.

Here the new patches for audio cd support whitout cdfs kernel module.

 

 1 : hotplug-e2-helper patch

 2 : enigma2 patch against latest master.

 3 : busybox patch for very severe config bug (The mdev config bug is really a blocker issue read :http://forums.openpl...ndpost&p=507169 )

    Why it it such a severe patch ?

      -  The processor is occupied with continousely restarting the bdpoll for nothing during media detection phase.

      -  The memory is filled up with a lot blocked segments for nothing.

      -  The base detection off media after insertion is interrupted regularly which ad random may lead to enigma2 crash till complete box lock up.

      -  If box does not lock by dvd it does by some dvd's interrupt the required playing of initial media protection menu's.

      -  and I suspect there are more problems related to that ....

 

For audio cd playing with those 3 patches it should also work on the current pli4 gst-0.1 image. Without cdfs kernel module.

 

For gst-1

 

libcdio needs to be upgraded to 0.93 and cdtextinfo needs to be patched to work with cdio above 0.9.

 

That's all You have to to for dm8000.

 

For vuduo2 also extra installation off :

kernel-module-udf , kernel-module-cdrom, kernel-module-sr-mod, and  cdtextinfo is required.

 

extra note: gst-0.1 and gst-1.0 image by dm8000 cd stops playing after a while ad random:

 - for old gst-0.1 it's a sync issue not solved with the current pli4 used sink's.

 

 - for gst-1 the base used dm sink not ok . It is not ok for mkv high vcq audio streams(by HD mkv's mostly this type off audio streams is used) and bugs with sync issues when dtsdownmix needed.

The base setup for audio :

 

by dm series audio must always run async mode.

by vuduo2/solo2 audio sync must always run in sync mode !!

For other vu+ series I don't.

For et and other boxes I don't.

The sync mode or not for audio is related to base dvb driver and that's a manufacturer issue base dvd driver.

Yes if the three patches are applied indeed. also the busybox patch very very important . At this time only one single cd does not play from Beeker , since we are just two persons which really test it ll at this time (at least i've got that impression) the day when all is pushed I'm sure there will be more reports.....

 

What is well on the dm8000 the playing off physical dvd's went quit ok since the latest hotplug patch. However some dvd's still needed  fiddlings around with remote command. By the dm8000 those dvd's do not have problems anymore after the busybox mdev.conf patch is applied .
