#275409 Nieuw Enigma2 met HbbTV en Linux-Kernel 3.2

Posted by WanWizard on 7 May 2012 - 10:52

Is is very simple: OpenPLI is licenced under GPL.

Which means you can use the source as you please, as long as you publish it again. If you make modifications, you are required to publish the modifications.

You are not allowed to use code of which OpenPLi has the copyright as original author in your own product, and you are not allowed to re-use the code in software that is not GPL.

The license explicitly forbids this, so both teams that use OpenPLi as a basis, modify it and don't publish those changes, and companies that take solutions from the OpenPLi code to incorporate those in closed source are in violation of the license agreement. And in the second case they are also in violation of copyright laws, which means they are "thiefs" of the code we have the copyright of.

That (those odd "underscore" type lines) usually indicates the title is multi line, what you see there is the top (or bottom) row of pixels of the second line.

Something that should be solved in Enigma, not in the EPG data...

#272482 Licentiediscussie

Posted by WanWizard on 20 April 2012 - 21:57

#271879 Oscam

Posted by WanWizard on 18 April 2012 - 13:51

I can confirm that installing Oscam on an Enigma1 box (a DM7000 in my case) is not a problem.

Put the oscam binary in /var/bin, and do a chmod 775 to make it executable.

In /var/etc/plimgr/cams, create a file called 'oscam', and add the version number in it (exact value is not relevant)

In /var/etc/plimgr/scripts, create a file called 'oscam', and put in it:
#!/bin/sh
CAMNAME4="oscam"
case "$1" in
	start)
 echo "[SCRIPT] $1: Starting $CAMNAME4"
 /var/bin/oscam -b &
 ;;
	stop)
 echo "[SCRIPT] $1: Stopping $CAMNAME4"
 # oscam does not always seems to stop
 usleep 100000
 pids=`pidof oscam`
 if [ -n "$pids" ] ; then
 kill -9 $pids > /dev/null 2>&1
 fi
 ;;
	*)
 $0 stop
 exit 1
 ;;
esac

exit 0

Configure oscam as documentated

Select oscam as your standard cardserver instead of CCcam
I use this box as my internal personal card server, so I can't comment on the DVBAPI part you need to watch locally.

De boardmakers niet ("Wij zien dit niet als een probleem, de standaard code cached altijd"). Maar ik wel, en dus bij deze. ;)

#270419 is OpenPLi op Jepssen MEDIABOX ST-4 HD/ 4+ HD / 5 HD ontvangers mogelijk?

Same chipset as the Amiko Alien and the Sparkbox.

#269123 SKY EPG on XT9000

Do not reboot the box the way you reboot it.

If you restart Enigma or the box from the menu, the EPG will be saved first, and re-read after Enigma restarts...

#268510 Supported external devices

Posted by WanWizard on 4 April 2012 - 19:01

To end the discussions whether or not a particular external device works or not, I've added a wiki page to create a central log of working devices.

Everyone with a forum account can edit this page when they are logged in. Do you have a USB stick, DVD drive, external disk, WLAN stick, etc, please add them here: http://openpli.org/w...externaldevices !

#268492 Kommt bald ein PLI Image für Gigablue Hd 800 Solo ?

Posted by WanWizard on 4 April 2012 - 17:21

The discussion about clones is not relevant.

We don't have those boxes, nor the desire to have them.

We don't control the changes that have been made to the OpenPLi source to have it run on such a box. And we don't have any contact with the driver developers so we can act if we find something wrong.

As with any piece of Open Source software, anyone is entitled to fork our repositories and release "their" version. A lot of images are based on OpenPLi these days. We don't have a problem with that, on the contrary, we support this. But all these images have their own identity, and support their own user base.

What we absolutely do NOT agree with, is someone releasing the result of this fork as an official OpenPLi image, and sending the users of his fork to our forum for support!

We have more than enough experience with unsupported boxes, and time and time again, reported issues turn out to be driver or hardware inconsistencies. We DO NOT want to waste our time investigating those reports, we prefer to spend that time developing features for the users of our images.

#268458 SKY EPG on XT9000

Posted by WanWizard on 4 April 2012 - 14:19

Install the XMLTV importer from the plugins list.

After installation you'll find it under menu/plugins and under the blue button.

Start it, configure it, press the sources button (don't know the color, I thought blue), select SKY UK, save your selection, press Yellow to start a manual import, and press Green to save your settings.

Info is off by one hour. Best thing to do is to erase the epg data tonight, so tommorow morning's import will fix things...

#264958 DM7000 Brick (please help)

Posted by WanWizard on 21 March 2012 - 08:26

I saw a similar report from a 5620 owner in the dutch section yesterday so perhaps it's an image issue. Unfortunately, nobody in the team has a working E1 box anymore, which makes testing difficult.

For a 7000, DreamUp is the only alternative.

#263194 De echte verschillen tussen ET5000 en ET6000

Posted by WanWizard on 13 March 2012 - 20:47

Gemiddeld zitten wij daar ook wel aan. ;)

#257676 USe DCC in OPENBOX S9

Posted by WanWizard on 24 February 2012 - 16:27

You can not.

Well, you probably can, but chances are you'll brick your box as our images contain drivers made by DMM, and they will refuse to run on clone hardware.

We do not support clone hardware, anything you do it at your own risk.
