#1025941 Multituner: First commits - but they need a lot of improvements
Posted by WanWizard on 5 March 2019 - 13:29
Technically it may be a good word, but descriptively, it isn't. And as it is a technical term, you can't translate it.
The OSmini+ has an FTM-4862 (which is an Availink AVL6862), which is a true dynamic hybrid tuner.
I want so suggest to hardcode specific tuners instead of assume all Availink hybrid tuners are true dynamic hybrid tuners, better one tuner missed, than user complaints because their tuner doesn't work anymore due to incorrect detection.

But Sky does not even mention them on their webpages.
Also tvguide - no schedule
There isn't really a schedule for the local "Made In" channels, most of the time they run CBS Reality, which gets interrupted by I think about 20 hours a week by some local programmes.
For your reference:
Notts TV: https://nottstv.com/whats-on/
Cardiff TV: https://www.cardifflocal.tv/whatson/ (but has no schedule at all)
Birmingham TV: https://www.birmingh...cal.tv/whatson/ (but has no schedule at all)
Liverpool TV: https://www.liverpoollocal.tv/whatson/ (but has no schedule at all)
Bristol TV: https://www.bristollocal.tv/whatson/ (but has no schedule at all)
Leeds TV:https://www.leedslocal.tv/whatson/ (but has no schedule at all)
Tyne & Wear TV: https://www.twlocal.tv/whatson/ (but has no schedule at all)
So Notts TV is the only exception.

It might be related / the same issue as in https://forums.openp...ps-image/page-2
Here it is said that twisted' downloadPage() is not SNI compatible, and in fact deprecated. https://twistedmatri...ples/index.html says twisted web agent should be used instead, which means a rewrite of the download section of the plugin.
I am not proficient enough in Python to do that.

Well, I didn't say that. Now that the external problems are out of the way, it's time to look at the rest.

The problem with dropbox is this one:
root@vuduo4k:/tmp# wget http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/k1i1u5w6ydtxzqi/vermin.xml.gz --2019-03-01 12:17:21-- http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/k1i1u5w6ydtxzqi/vermin.xml.gz Resolving dl.dropboxusercontent.com... 162.125.64.6, 2620:100:6020:6::a27d:4006 Connecting to dl.dropboxusercontent.com|162.125.64.6|:80... connected. ERROR: cannot verify dl.dropboxusercontent.com's certificate, issued by ‘CN=DigiCert SHA2 High Assurance Server CA,OU=www.digicert.com,O=DigiCert Inc,C=US’: Unable to locally verify the issuer's authority. To connect to dl.dropboxusercontent.com insecurely, use `--no-check-certificate'.
a check shows:
root@vuduo4k:/tmp# openssl s_client -showcerts -connect dl.dropboxusercontent.com:443 CONNECTED(00000003) depth=1 C = US, O = DigiCert Inc, OU = www.digicert.com, CN = DigiCert SHA2 High Assurance Server CA verify error:num=20:unable to get local issuer certificate --- Certificate chain 0 s:/C=US/ST=California/L=San Francisco/O=Dropbox, Inc/OU=Dropbox Ops/CN=*.dl.dropboxusercontent.com i:/C=US/O=DigiCert Inc/OU=www.digicert.com/CN=DigiCert SHA2 High Assurance Server CA
on a working setup, it shows:
[wanwizard@catwoman] $ openssl s_client -showcerts -connect dl.dropboxusercontent.com:443 CONNECTED(00000003) depth=2 C = US, O = DigiCert Inc, OU = www.digicert.com, CN = DigiCert High Assurance EV Root CA verify return:1 depth=1 C = US, O = DigiCert Inc, OU = www.digicert.com, CN = DigiCert SHA2 High Assurance Server CA verify return:1 depth=0 C = US, ST = California, L = San Francisco, O = "Dropbox, Inc", OU = Dropbox Ops, CN = *.dl.dropboxusercontent.com verify return:1 --- Certificate chain 0 s:C = US, ST = California, L = San Francisco, O = "Dropbox, Inc", OU = Dropbox Ops, CN = *.dl.dropboxusercontent.com i:C = US, O = DigiCert Inc, OU = www.digicert.com, CN = DigiCert SHA2 High Assurance Server CA
which means the ca-certificates packages is not complete, and it misses the "DigiCert High Assurance EV Root CA" certificate.
OpenPLi develop uses 20180409, which is quite recent but doesn't have it, Fedora uses 2018-02-26, but does, which means Redhat has patched their version. I find a similar issue report for Ubuntu too.
Fixing this is not for tomorrow...

Memory access issue in Enigma. Nothing much you can do about it, unless you're good at both C++ and Python, and willing to dive into the code to find this memory leak...
This is btw not OpenPLi 7, but either a clone image or a self-build image. Probably on an unsupported DMM box. So nothing much we can do.

#1010465 Problem with softcam OpenPli 7
Posted by WanWizard on 31 January 2019 - 16:10
It depends on the smartcard you have.
The best bet is Oscam, it is open source development, actively developed, and it can be compiled against the correct libraries, so you don't have this sort of dependency issues.
But not all smartcard types are supported, and some do require additional configuration or keys to make them work which are not included because they violate licensing.
If you want to think about it, create a new topic, tell us which card / provider you have, and I am sure other users can tell you exactly what the options are.

Remove your tech hat, and put on your end-user hat.
An enduser has no clue, nor does he want to have a clue, what a service and a playback source is, and he doesn't care. An enduser expects the info to be where it always is.
We make a mess of it as well, as a local file is "playback", but a remote file is a "service"? Explain that to your dad...
Both have a title, a duration, a progress bar, epg info, resolution, etc. No, you don't have orbital info, but a stream doesn't have that either, and that doesn't seem to bother us?
